10 years ago, UNESCO to set April 23 as "World Book and Copyright Day (also known as" World Book and Copyright Day "). April 23, 2005 is the first 10" World Book and Copyright Day. "Since 1995 World Book and Copyright Day since the declaration of an annual day in the world more than 100 countries and regions in support of the Government, publishing organizations, schools, libraries, community circles should be carried out a variety of Reading Day celebrations, the Book and Copyright Day promotional activities into a bustling festive joy.

However, in China, the world's Reading Festival has not yet been known to the public, let alone a holiday. Study site in 2004, according to Sohu survey: know that "World Book Day" were only 6%, 27% of people had heard of, but I do not know the details though, 67% of people had never heard of this day.

Today, I read books at home. There are many books in my family, such as "outlaws of the marsh", "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", and many books recited by Tang poetry. Dad bought at least ten kinds of Tang poetry books, and he often played the game of reciting Tang poetry with me. My father bought books for me in the hope that I could read more books, which would increase my knowledge and ability. As soon as I have time, I will choose one or two books to watch. My favorite is children's cartoon, which contains jokes, compositions, and Zhu Deyong's cartoon "absolute child". In the days when children's comics was released, I asked my mother whether it had been brought when she came home from work. If so, I couldn't help but read it with great devotion. If not, I will feel very disappointed. "Children's cartoon" is very rich in knowledge, many children love to read it.

I love reading. I want to study hard, read good books, and strive to be a promising person when I grow up. Through reading, I learned a truth: "reading is like eating sugar cane. The more you read, the sweeter you will eat.".

People often say that gold and silver are the most valuable things in the world. But

I don't think so. In my opinion, to read books is more valuable than anything else.

The old saying “To open a book is always helpful” clearly tells us how good it is to read a book.

Books are our friends. They introduce us different kinds of knowledge. They lead us down the road to success.

Books are our teachers. They teach us troth, science, literature, and philosophy of life. Besides, they increase our knowledge, enlarge our experience, strengthen our character and do many other things which we can not do without them.

Books tell us what is good and what is evil. And only books can tell the good from the bad.

Therefore to read more books is the best policy for our young students.

it's generally considered that reading do a lot of benefit to our students.not only can it make our after-school life more meaningful and l,but it can expand our horizons.as a result, with reading more,we would grow into a better person.

however, in current days, many of us spend most of the leisure time in playing games or surfing the internet, instead of reading. it's a pity to find it less and less our students are interesting in reading,or have formed a habit of reading.

so,in order to revive reading, this beneficial activity,we'd better take action right now.let's read together, learn together and grow !

If we have a book ,we will not be felling of being longly

When I'm free or in trouble, I always take out a book and read quietly.

In no time, I've put my heart into it so that I'll forget all the troubles. It's in this way that I've formed the habit of reading in any time.

Little boys as I was, I was interest in picture books and storybooks.

I was struck by them. No sooner had I entered the middle school than I began to read novel, plays, essays and so on.

I found I could get much from them.

Little by little I took great interest in literature and last term I won the first prize in the composition contest among middle-school students in Zhe Jiang.

Reading “The Emperor's New Clothes”, I had to let out a burst of laughter over his fool. “The Little Match Girl” couldn't keep me from crying for her misery. “ Robinson Crusoe” took me into a strange world full of danger.

And I was also deeply impressed by Helen Keller's patience and perseverance… Besides these, books also tell me other thing -how to be a man and how to tell the difference between right and wrong.

In a word, good books can make me know what I didn't before. So I think of a good book as my best friend.

I'll never forget this famous saying,“ Good books are best friends who never turn their backs upon us.

As consensus of everyone, people should read books, especially when they are young. However,we still should read selectively instead of blindly.

In China, many parents force their children to read all kinds of books for some reason, that makes those kids under heavy stress.

I don't think it's a good way for education, child should read those books which can help them develop a good viewpoint about the world and life, such as thanksgiving, appreciation, politeness and diligence.

Even for adult,we should select what we read as well, because our engergy is limited.

Moreover,we still need to learn much knowledge helpful for our career.

Actually,I think reading blindly is just wasting time.

Nowadays, people feel much more stress than before,so we can chose those books about computer application, investment,English learning, economy, finance, etc.

So,all in all,we should attach importance to both of selectivity and universality when thinking about reading.

We all known that reading should focus on method, but what methods are good for reading? Firstly, the difficulty of the book you read should be moderate.

Too difficult or too easy are not so good. If you find a book is too difficult to read, just put it aside and find an easier one instead.

Secondly, read the books that are beneficial for you, which can help you in your career as well as in life.

Thirdly, for those simple books or those without deep meanings, you can scan over them, but for those meaningful and beneficial, you should read them intensively and remember to take notes.

Finally, don't be shy to ask questions, because anyone could be your teacher. These approaches are general ones and each of you should have your own reading methods that make your reading fruitful.

My Favorite Book Harry Potter

Do you know Harry Potter? It's one of my favorite readings. The hero HarryPotter is a student in a magic school. He wears glasses and has no parents, andnow he is sixteen years old. He is very brave and known to everyone, because heis the only person who will not die by devil.

When I read the book, I feel very excited and interested. So I have read itagain and again, each time I have different feelings. Do you like Harry Potter? If you haven't read the book, read it now and you'll find a wonderful world.

I like reading very much. When I was a small girl,I was interested in reading picture books on science and history. At the age of seven,I entered a primary school and began to read more books.

Now I am a middle school student. I have many subjects to learn. Every day I must finish a lot of homework. I am very busy. But when I have spare time I still want to read some story books. One day my young sister brought me a book XI YOU JI.I read the book with great interest.much.

I like Monkey King very much.

books are to mankind what memory is be the individual. they contain the history of our race, the discoveries we have made, the accumulated knowledge and experience of ages; they picture for us the marvels and beauties of nature, help us in our difficulties, comfort us in sorrow and in suffering, change hours of weariness into moments of delight, store our minds with ideas, fill them with good and happy thoughts, and lift us out of and above ourselves.

many of those who have had, as we say, all that this world can give, have yet told us they owed much of their purest happiness to books. macaulay had wealth and fame, rank and power, and yet he tells us in his biography that he owed the happiest hours of his life to books. he says: “if any one would make me the greatest king that ever lived, with palaces and gardens and fine dinners, and wines and coaches, and beautiful clothes, and hundreds of servants, on condition that i should rather be a poor man in a garret with plenty of books than a king who did not love reading.”precious and priceless are the blessings which the books scatter around our daily paths. we walk, in imagination, with the noblest spirits, through the most sublime and enchanting regions.

without stirring from our firesides we may roam to the most remote regions of the earth, or soar into realms when spender’s shapes of unearthly beauty flock to meet us, where milton’s angels peal in our ears the choral hymns of paradise. science, art, literature, philosophy,---all that man has though, all that man has done,----the experience that has been bought with the sufferings of a hundred generations,---all are garnered up for us in the world of books.

The great writer gorky once said: "books are the ladder of human progress." "He spoke such a truth: actually the human to hard climbing, climbing a ladder of books. The books are made of ladder above, is a resplendent and magnificent palace of knowledge, therefore, we must try to climb, to learn from.

Human knowledge to create wealth, as the vast ocean, extensive and profound. People often think of elementary school, middle school and university studies described as the "everybody" on climbing, in the "university" swim in. So, we should read more books and books to purify the mind, in the book knowledge to enrich themselves. In our life, if always too passively reading, tend to be less than the pleasure of reading. With a scholarly paper, open a little tenderness, and then quietly looked at the text as time moves slip from your eyes... At this time, you will feel that reading is a matter of how to make people happy! Reading is a kind of mood, the elegant comfortable is the best psychological reagent. Go to the reading, you will have more found.

Read more books, read good books. Due to a selective reading of the book of knowledge also should have choice to adopt, is the so-called take its essence

I think reading is important in the whole life for people. There are many benefits of reading.

Firstly, reading increases our knowledge and we can learn the world affairs without going out. Secondly, reading is a good way to improve reading and writing skills. Before you learn to write, you must know how others write. Thirdly, reading can broaden our knowledge and horizon, which is important to job hunting in the future.

Finally, reading helps us become self-cultivation that would be beneficial to our whole life. Therefore, start to reading, no matter how old you are and what you are doing. Then, you may find the great charm and benefits of reading.

Shakespeare said: "books are the nourishment of the world." I think the metaphor is very appropriate. I grew up without books!

One time, is very popular in our class a book called "Charles ix", I didn't like reading, saw the classmate all hands holding the book. The second day, we will go to the track and field training, I will call xiao liu classmates go down, and then, liu ask me: "do you want to see it?" I have heard say: "good! Thanks!" After we finished our homework in the home, I opened the book, the book said a few children go to adventure with a puppy, are science fiction, very attract me, I fell in love with this book. One day, my name is mother bought me a book these, my mother bought for me, return to a home, mom give the book to me, I'll play reading a book to see, because is too good, I lost track of time, my father called me to dinner I don't know, dad came to my side said: "if you look at Chinese book so ecstasy!"

In a few days, my birthday! Dad gave me a birthday present, I want to buy the book, I haven't export, dad said can't buy your book! I heard the cry of a, then, my father bought the book to me, he said: "love reading."

"Books are the source of knowledge! "Books are the ladder of human progress!" Students, let us together to read is!!!! I believe that the book will make you into another world, the book will bring you the fun of my poor!

We are now living in a common home. That is the earth. She provides us with enough food, enough water and enough living room. So we must do everything to protect her. There are lots of big or small, red or green, beautiful gardens around us .But there are still some other lands bare of grasses or trees on the earth. Some people may ask why not led all lands covered with trees, flowers and grasses? Why not prevent the lands from being desert? Why not prevent the air from being polluted? And why not prevent the earth from being poisoned? Yes! Our environment is being polluted faster than nature and man’s efforts can prevent. Time is bring us more people, and more people will bring us more industry. So many trees will be cut down, and more large cities will be set up. Lots of waste material, in return, is produced and harms the environment. So some experts declare that the balance of nature is being destroyed.

The survival of man is in danger. We feel really sad about it. What can we do to solve this problem? We must forbid cutting down trees and forbid killing animals and pouring waste water into rivers and so on. We’ll never destroy the balance of nature. Let’s get along well with all animals. Let the trees, flowers and grasses come back to our home. Because we have only one home --- the earth.

he first thing i want to insist on is that reading should be enjoyable. of course, there are many books that we all have to road, either to pass examinations or to acquire information, from which it is impossible to extract enjoyment. we aro reading them for instruction, and the best we can hope is that our need for it will enable us to get through them without todium. such books wo read with resignation rather than with alacrity. but that is not the sort of roading i have in mind. the books i shall mention in due course will help you neither to get a degree nor to earn your living, they will not teach you to sail a boat or get a stalled motor to run, but they will help you to live more fully. that, however, they cannot do unless you enjoy reading them.

every man is his own best critic. whatever the learned say about a book, however unanimous they are in their praise of it,unless it interests you, it is no business of yours. and you who read are the final judge of the value to you of the book you are reading. we are none of us exactly like everyone else, only rather like, and it would be unreasonable to suppose that the books that have meant a great deal to me should be precisely those that will mean a great deal to you. but they are books that i feel the richer for having read, and i think i should not be quite the man i am if i had not read them. no one is under an obligation to read poetry or fiction or the miscellaneous literature which is classed as belleslettres. he must read them for pleasure, and who can claim that what pleases one man must necessarily please another?
