观音的梵文应该是：Avalokitesvara。把观音翻成：KUN SHI YIN似不妥，因为这是中文的音译，就好比“佛”，英文应该是按照梵文的发音，即：“Buddha”（音“布达”），而不能按中文发音，翻成“Fo”。同理，“如来”的英文说法（也即梵文发音）是“tathagata”，而不是按汉语拼音，翻成“rulai”。

我觉得这种问题 就像 清华 译成 Tsinghua 北京 译成 Peking 一样 还有《金陵十三钗》里的南京 译成 Nanking它们老早以前就存在了，或者说是那些西洋鬼子翻译的吧。 按照现代人的说法可能会有一点点出入，但是大家（当地人）已经习惯了（而且只是一个代名词而已），懒得去改变了，已经是约定成俗了。
