我本来是来看解释的，但是看着那些解释好像都似是而非，含含糊糊，看了半天也不明就里，于是自己研究了一下，研究的结果跟大家分享一下，不妥之处，还望指正。repute，reputation意思一样，指“名声”，中性词，有好有坏；用法的区别，repute一般是介词短语作补语，in repute，of repute，by repute，前面可以加形容词，说明具体地好的坏的“名声”，几乎见不到前面带冠词的用法！而reputation可以，想说一个名声，这个名声，那个名声，都需要用reputation，而不用repute。fame，“名誉”，是褒义词。the hall of fame名人堂。honor ，“荣耀”，是褒义词，程度比fame低。主语是第一人称时，有点谦虚的感觉，第一人称很少见用fame，词典里fame的例句也几乎没有第一人称的。fame，honor ，proud程度依次下降，fame长期行为获得的广泛认可的“名誉”，honor 得到认可的“荣耀”，proud不一定得到认可的“傲娇”。总结：repute，reputation“名声”，repute多用作补语，主语宾语用reputation；fame，honor 是褒义词，fame程度高。
