选用的系统听力材料,内容最好不要超出所学词汇和语法范围,由浅入深,循序渐进。听得懂,才有听下去的兴趣。听这类材料要精听,遇到困难的语音、词、句可以停下录音机,把磁带倒回重听,直到把全部内容听懂理解为止;除此之外,还应选用一些其他辅助听力材料,最好内容不要超出所学词汇和语法范围,由浅入深,循序渐进。听的过程中不必停顿,听懂大意就行。这类泛听材料可以广泛一些,文章、故事、对话、采访、报告等等,凡是适合自己听力水平的材料均可用来泛听。无论听哪种材料,听之前最好不要先看文字材料(练习除外),应先把录音内容听一遍,了解大意,听的时候要集中精力,大脑的反应要尽量跟上录音速度。在听的过程中常会遇到这种情况,有些词听上去很熟,但一下子想不起是什么意思,或者有些词听上去很陌生。这时不要停下来去想,否则会影响听下面的内容。在有问题时可回想一下,看是否能从上下文推测出其含义。再者,不必把每个词都要弄个清清楚楚,有些并不影响理解的词可以忽略。另外,不要听一句,脑子里翻译一句,要尽量做到思维跟上录音材料的速度,听得懂材料里说了些什么,目的也就达到了。对于那些只有听一次机会的听力内容,如电视、广播的英语节目,一开始可能听不懂什么,要坚持听,只要听个大概也就行了。
