Spring Festival; Lunar/Chinese New Year。上学期间，我们使用最多的是spring festival春节来指代新年，但还有其他说法。西方人翻译中国某些特定的事物，有一个比较省事儿的原则，就是加个Chinese修饰，比如农历新年是中国人的新年，那就是Chinese New Year。农历新年俗称“春节、年节”，中国人过春节已有4000多年的历史。在现代，人们把春节定于农历正月初一，但一般至少要到正月十五（上元节）新年才算结束。Celebrations traditionally run from the evening preceding the first day, to the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first calendar month.在民间，传统意义上的春节是指从腊月的腊祭或腊月二十三或二十四的祭灶，一直到正月十九。除了Chinese New Year，还有Lunar New Year的说法，不过后者已经不是单纯指中国的新年了。我们都知道，一些其他亚洲国家也过春节，比如新加坡、印度尼西亚、韩国、日本等。农历新年是中国的重要节日，我们的庆祝方式也对邻国的节庆产生了很深刻的影响，像日本、韩国、越南的新年庆祝都是基于中国的阴阳历进行的。Lunar New Year is considered a major holiday for the Chinese and has had influence on the lunar new year celebrations of its geographic neighbours.
