Objective-My objective is to become successful in both social and academic aspects. My move to Western was a hard but has given me a greater appreciation for what I already have and makes me want to work harder for my future. Since I have been here I have realized not only things about other people but also things about myself. Coming from a small town I did not encounter the culture, diversity or hardships of other people. Everyday was the same there, and even when I go back now it seems like nothing has changed. Living in Kalamazoo has opened my eyes to other aspects that I didn’t encounter on an everyday basis in my home town. While attending Western I would like to maintain a good GPA. This will not only help me now, but it will help me in the future when applying for scholarships. I will also be able to sleep better at night knowing that I am doing well in my classes, and not have to worry day by day how I am going to fix a problem that I have created for myself. This goal I plan to maintain for myself is something I know my parents would also like to see. I would also like to become more active throughout my time at Western. Right now I do not have a lot of time to get involved between classes, homework and work. My goal is to find time and get involved. This will not only give me an opportunity to meet new people, but will also look good on applications for future employers. Being socially and academically successful in my college years is my major objective. Accomplishing the goals that I have set for my self will give me a better outlook and understanding of what is going on around me. I know that if I work hard and use my skills to their advantage I will accomplish my goals and make my time here worthwhile. These four years could be the best or worst years of my life and what they are is up to me.

I remember once upon a time, when I was running 800meters, I felt there seemed to be the impossible mission for me, I wanted to give up, then my teacher told me that I should not think about the 800meters, I should set up 100meters for myself, then I wouldn’t be so tired. I did as he told me, indeed, every time when I finished the small goal, I was happy, in the end, I finished the running. I learn the lesson that we need to set up the best goal, it means we can make the small goals, which are so easy for us to realize. Then every time we finish the small goal, we will close to our final destination.
