I want be free
Good afternoon, everyone.Today,my topic is “I want to be free.”It’s a story about a wolf and a dog.
A wolf was almost dead with hunger.A house-dog saw him,and asked,”friend,it’s bad for you.”
“Why don’t you work steadily as I do,and get your food regularly?” “I would have no objection.”said the wolf,”if I could only get a place.” “I will help you.”said the dog.”Come with me to my master, and you shall share me work ”
So the wolf and the dog went to the town together.
On the way ,the wolf saw that there was no hair around the dog’neck. He felt quite surprised, and asked him why it was like that?
“Oh,it is nothing.”said the dog.”Every night my master puts a collar around my neck and chains me up.You will soon get used to it.”
“Is that the only reason.”said the wolf.”Then good bye to you,my friend.I would like to be free.”
Do you like to be free?every.Thank you for listening.
1 A long time ago, there was a huge apple tree. A little boy loved to come and lay around it every day. He climbed to the tree top, ate the apples, took a nap under the shadow… He loved the tree and the tree loved to play with him. Time went by… the little boy had grown up and he no longer played around the tree every day. One day, the boy came back to the tree and he looked sad. “Come and play with me,” the tree asked the boy. “I am no longer a kid, I don't play around trees anymore.” The boy replied, “I want toys. I need money to buy them.” “Sorry, but I don't have money…but you can pick all my apples and sell them. So, you will have money.” The boy was so excited. He grabbed all the apples on the tree and left happily. The boy never came back after he picked the apples. The tree was sad. One day, the boy returned and the tree was so excited. “Come and play with me,” the tree said. “I don't have time to play. I have to work for my family. We need a house for shelter. Can you help me?” “Sorry, but I don't have a house. But you can chop off my branches to build your house.” So the boy cut all the branches off the tree and left happily. The tree was glad to see him happy but the boy never came back since then. The tree was again lonely and sad. One hot summer day, the boy returned and the tree was delighted. “Come and play with me!” the tree said. “I am sad and getting old. I want to go sailing to relax myself. Can you give me a boat?” “Use my trunk to build your boat. You can sail far away and be happy.” So the boy cut the tree trunk to make a boat. He went sailing and never showed up for a long time. The tree was happy, but it was not true. Finally, the boy returned after he left for so many years. “Sorry, my boy. But I don't have anything for you anymore. No more apples for you…” the tree said. "I don't have teeth to bite,” the boy replied. "No more trunk for you to climb on.” "I am too old for that now,” the boy said. "I really can't give you anything… the only thing left is my dying roots,” the tree said with tears. "I don't need much now, just a place to rest. I am tired after all these years.” The boy replied. "Good! Old tree roots is the best place to lean on and rest. Come, Come sit down with me and rest.” The boy sat down and the tree was glad and smiled with tears… This is a story of everyone. The tree is our parent. When we were young, we loved to play with Mom and Dad… When we grown up, we left them, and only came to them when we need something or when we are in trouble. No matter what, parents will always be there and give everything they could to make you happy. You may think that the boy is cruel to the tree but that's how all of us are treating our parents. 2 Smoking is not as commonplace and is subject to restrictions in most public places. Before smoking, the best policy is to ask if anyone minds, or wait to see if others smoke. Restaurants often have a section where smoking is permitted; many hotels designate rooms as smoking and non-smoking. A handshake is the customary greeting for both men and women, although you should wait to see if the woman offers her hand. Apart from greeting close family members or friends, Americans tend to refrain from greetings that involve hugging and other close physical contact. For the most part, they are unreceptive to being touched during conversation and other social situations. The standard space between you and your conversation partner should be about two feet. Most U.S. executives will be uncomfortable standing at a closer distance. Direct eye contact conveys that you are sincere, although it should not be too intense. Certain ethnic groups will look away to show respect. Friends or acquaintances of the same sex generally do not hold hands. To point, you may use the index finger, although it's impolite to point at another person. To beckon someone, wave either all the fingers or just the index finger in a scooping motion, with the palm facing up. To show approval, there are two common gestures: the “O.K.” sign, formed by making a circle of the thumb and index finger, and the “thumbs up” sign, formed by making a fist and pointing the thumb upward. 3 Dear ladies and gentlemen: Thank you for the warm welcome. It's an honor to be here today. I'm here on a mission. I have an important message. I'm convinced it will change your life. English is everywhere. English is a key to success. We must learn and master it. So many of us study English like hell. So few of us can speak it well. What do you think is the reason? The problem is right here! The problem is remembering. The problem is that we forget what we learn. Luckily , through years of research ,we've created a new way to learn . With this specially designed material and method, we can retain what we learn forever. It's called One Breath English. What is One Breath English? Why shall we learn it, what it all about? First, it's a breakthrough technique. It's easy to remember. It's designed to be memorized. Repeat nine lines like crazy. Speak as fast as you can. Say it within five seconds. It will become second nature. It will be ingrained in your memory. You will remember it for the rest of your life. Second, the material is full of life. It's not boring book English. It's the core essence of daily American speech. The content is uplifting. It's considerate and polite. People will like what you say. You'll gain confidence. You'll communicate better. You'll become a better person. Third, it's fun to learn. It's a five second test. It's just like playing a game. You challenge yourself. You race against the clock. You will improve every time you try. Speak English to yourself day and night. Speak English to everyone around you. It's fun to impress people. Fourth, One Breath English is very healthy. Life is so beautiful!! The world is waiting for you ! Get it !! Last Friday was really not my day. Do you want to know why? All right, let me tell you why it was not my day. First of all, my music teacher asked me to see her in the music classroom. I got there on time, but saw no one in the classroom. So I thought I might as well play around with the musical instruments. As I looked around the classroom, there were a piano beside the door, and drums, flutes, saxophones etc. sitting on the table. I was bored and walked around touching any instrument that I could touch. To be honest, I wasn’t really interested in anything at that time. Then all of the sudden, Susan, one of my classmates, showed up in the classroom, and she really was a pill. She looked at me and started yelling at me for touching a saxophone. I was totally shocked by her shouts. What’s more, she acted like she’s my mother or something! I probably knew more about music than she did. I got very, very, very upset. I said to her, “why don’t you mind your own business?” “Go away!” And next time you should never surprise people like that way. Then she kept saying it wasn’t her fault and …... I guessed it was no point of talking to her. I thought she’s just so impolite and arrogant that I couldn’t stand a second with her in the same room. I left the message on the board for the teacher and walked directly out the classroom. In the hallway, I met John who likes Susan very much. I questioned him how he could get along with her. He just told me she is beautiful, talented, friendly etc… Well, I didn’t want to argue with John. My brain told me to shut up and forgot about that girl. I told John, “hey, stop talking about her, let’s go playing basketball, all right!”
