The boy looked around and said, “We’re losing by six runs (分) and the game is in the eighth inning (局).I guess he can be on our team and we’ll try to put him in to bat in the final inning. “他的爸爸走近现场的一个男孩问是否谢也能玩，并不期望太多。男孩四周看了看，说，“我们失去了六分、比赛进行到第八局。我猜他可以在我们的团队，我们会尝试让他在最后一局掷球。” Shay struggled over to the team’s bench and put on a team shirt with a broad smile and his father had a small tear in his eye and warmth in heart. In the top of the final inning, Shay put on a glove and played in the field. Even though no hits came his way, he was obviously joyful just to be in the game and on the field. In the bottom of the final inning, Shay’s team scored again. Now, Shay was scheduled to be next at bat. Everyone knew that a hit was almost impossible. The first pitch (投) came and Shay missed. The pitcher again again took a few steps forward to throw the ball softly towards Shay. As the pitch came in , Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher. 令人惊讶的是，谢拿到了橄榄球。每个人都知道，成功（最后一击）几乎是不可能的。第一投开始，谢错过了。投手又向前走了几步，把球轻轻地扔向谢。投的球来到后，谢伊挥球、击中一个缓慢的触地球使它又正好回到了投手手中。The pitcher could have easily thrown he ball to the first baseman and Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game .Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the head of the first baseman, beyond the reach of all teammates, The audience and the players from both teams started screaming,“Shay, run to first! ”Never in his life had Shay ever run that far but made it to first base, wide-eyed and shocked.. 投手可以轻易丢球传给一垒手，谢就会出局，那将使比赛结束。相反，投手投出球越过一垒手的头，超出所有的队友所能触碰到的范围。观众和两支球队的队员开始尖叫：“谢，跑到一垒！”谢从来没有跑这么远但成功到达一垒，他睁大眼睛、很震惊。Everyone shouted, “Run to second!” Catching his breath, Shay awkwardly ran towards second.By the time Shay rounded towards second base, the smallest guy on their team,who had a chance to be the hero for his team for the first time,could have thrown the ball to the second baseman, but he understood the pitcher’s intentions and he too intentionally threw the ball high and far over the third baseman’s head. 每个人都在喊，“跑到二垒！“屏住呼吸，谢伊笨拙地跑向二垒。当谢绕场跑到二垒是，他们球队最小的家伙有机会第一次成为他的团队的英雄，本可以把球传向二垒手，但是他明白投手的意图，他也故意把球高高的，远远超过第三垒手的头。 All were screaming，“Shay，Shay，Shay，all the way Shay.” Shay reached third base when one opposing player ran to help him and shouted, “Shay, run to third.” As Shay rounded third, all were on their feet, crying,“Shay, run home！”Shay ran to home, stepped on the home base and was cheered as the hero who the who won the game for his team. That day, the boys from both teams helped bring a piece true love and humanity into this world. Shay didn’t make it to another summer and died that winter, having never forgotten being the hero and making his father so happy and coming home and seeing his mother tearfully hug her little hero of the day!所有人尖叫，“谢，谢，谢，一直跑，谢。”谢达到三垒时，对方球员跑去帮他喊道，”西恩，跑到三垒。”当谢绕着跑到三垒时，所有人都站起来，哭着说：“谢，跑回大本营！”谢跑回了大本营，踩着大本营，被当做为球队赢得比赛的英雄一样得到欢呼。这一天，球队里的所有男孩都向世界展示了真正的爱和人性。西恩没能活到另一个夏天、在那个冬天死了，从来没有忘记过成为英雄、使他的父亲很高兴、回到家看到母亲含泪拥抱她的小英雄的那一天！
