一般敢挑战英语面试的求职者，都有一定的英文基础。不过，即使英文基础不错，也不一定可以在英语面试时胜出。在这里我要提供一些英语面试时该掌握的基本技巧，这些方法将可以有效的提升求职者在英语面试时的表现。 见面亲切问候，赢得主考官好感 让我们先谈谈初见面的问候语。求职者带给面试官的第一印象，如果是落落大方的，会是一个很好的开始。我建议求职者可以从面试官的名字开始问候。如果面试官的桌上会有名牌，求职者可以从”Good morning, Mr. ”开始，拉近两人的距离。当面试官问求职者：”How are you?” 求职者可以回答：”Couldn’t be better!”显示出个人「愉悦的人格属性」。 当被问及个性时，以2S1H胜出 面试官除了关心求职者的学历及经验(这些可以从履历表来观察)之外，面试官往往也会考核求职者的「个性」及「态度」。这时，建议求职者以”2S 1H”来表达自己的个性。”2S 1H”中，S是’’Serious’’ ，H是’’Humorous’’的意思。例如，求职者可以说自己的个性是：Diligent, logical and happy. Diligent,和logical，是属於严肃的描述；happy是属於幽默感的描述。但是，在表情上要搭配得宜，例如，说自己是个happy的人的时候，表情也应该是微笑的。如何掌握精准的表情，有赖於对自己性格的了解。 当自我介绍时，要掌握企业需要的讯息 企业需要的讯息为何？显然是求职者的所学所能，是否可以符合企业的需要。例如，求职者工作的长度、所负责的职务内容描述、能运用的技能(例如英语及电脑或某种专业)等等，是面试官最关心的讯息。面试的时间有限，求职者必须先掌握企业的要求，作符合条件之内容陈述。 掌握企业关心的资讯 在有限的面试时间里，求职者要掌握诉求的重点，并以逻辑的方式，一一道出企业所需要知道的讯息。什是企业需要的讯息呢？是求职者的所学所能，是否可以符合企业的需要。那么，求职者就要去研究，企业的期待为何？还有，这个职务所需要的「学历、技能、个性、态度」为何？如果求职者掌握了这些资讯，就可以在履历、自传及面试时作「对应」的准备。 面试时，面试官经常会要求职者作「 自我介绍」。我认为这跟写自传是一样的方法(中英文自传皆然)。陈述的第一段，求职者要呈现与「寻找的职务目标」相关的学识和技能；第二段，要表达过去的经历籍个人专长，与「寻找的职务目标」相符何处；第三段，表达求职者的学习精神，和「恳请给予面试机会」的意愿。 面试时，求职者很可能被问到某种并不擅长的技能，或缺乏某种经验的项目时，这时，面对面试官的质疑，求职者也有方法可以安然度过！ 我要提出四个步骤化险为夷。 1. 承认面试官提出的问题。 2. 举出曾经历过的具体的经验及教训。 3. 提出具体改善的方法。 4. 强调自己学习力极强，表示自己可以很快迎头赶上。 第一项：承认面试官提出的问题，可以「避免」求职者露出「反对面试官」的态度。求职者马上「反对面试官」，是绝对没有好处的！至於举出曾经历过的具体的经验及教训，以及提出具体改善的方法，则可以将过去的成绩具体化！。最后，强调自己学习力极强，表示自己可以很快迎头赶上，则是化解面试官的疑虑。这样一来，求职者可以马上化弱点为优点。 我在此要提醒求职者，事前的准备很重要。如何将自己脑中大量混乱的资讯，以系统的方式整理及归档，让面对不同问题时可以侃侃而谈，是很重要的。 面试官提出难题，其实不是为了考倒求职者，而是希望藉由问题，了解求职者的能力及个性。 英语并非我们的母语，面试时碰到不懂得单字是很常见的。我建议求职者准备一个笔记本，当听不懂某个单字时，可以用笔记下来，然后请教面试官。 例如，你听不懂’’ordinate’’这个单字，你可以请教面试官：Could you give me a simple word about“ordinate”？ 通常，只要能明确的点出疑问，面试官都会帮忙。因为，诚如刚才说的：「面试的过程，是为了了解求职者的程度和个性，面试官并非要考倒求职者的那个人！」而且，「面试」不等於「英语程度测验」，面试官可以帮助求职者，来了解他的问题。 离场时，要表达「信心及礼貌」。 当结束了面试，求职者要表达胜不骄、败不馁的态度。求职者即使感到自己表现不是非常好，也可以以一点幽默感及好的态度加分。例如，离场时，求职者可以说：Thank you very much. I hope we can see each other very soon. 求职者必须以正面的态度结束这个面试，千万别露出沮丧担心的表情。这样做，至少可以让面试官感受你正面积极的态度及不慌不忙的成熟个性。

Don’t shake hand with the interviewer until he/she exte ndshis/her hand. (穿着要得体，人家伸手时才握手。) Don’t sit down until invited to do so by the interviewer. (人家未请，先 别坐下。) Make eye-contact with the interviewer during the interview. (面试时，眼睛 要看着对方。)Listen actively and stay calm. (注意听，保持冷静。) If invited to a meal, be especially careful about your table manners. (被邀吃饭时，要特别注意餐桌礼节。) Don’t talk with your mouth full. (嘴里有食物，不可开口说话) Don’t make much noise while you eat. (吃东西不要出声音) Don’t blow your nose or use the toothpick at table. (不要拧鼻涕或用牙签 剔牙) Don’t appear to be pushy or overly anxious to get a job.（不必过分表现急 着要工作） Be honest but not too modest.（要诚实，但不必太谦虚) Don’t put yourself down or cut yourself up. (不可妄自菲薄或自贬) Try to avoid discussing politics or religion with your interviewer. (避免 与面试人谈政治或宗教)
