The Chinese Olympic Committee sent a formal nomination letter to the International Olympic Committee last Sunday and the bid is supported by the Chinese government,Chinas official news agency Xinhua reported this week.

中国官方通讯社新华社本周报道，中国奥委会上周日向国际奥委会发出正式提名信，中国政府支持申办。

"The bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics will further improve the development of the Chinese Olympic cause,display the comprehensive power of China and push forward the coordinated development of the economies of the two cities," the committee said in a statement.

该委员会在一份声明中表示：“申办2022年冬奥会将进一步促进中国奥林匹克事业的发展，展示中国的综合国力，推动两市经济协调发展。”
