负鼠，是负鼠目、负鼠科动物的通称。是一种比较原始的有袋类动物，主要产自拉丁美洲，只有一种（北美负鼠）分布在美国和加拿大。在英语环境中，负鼠opossum和澳洲的袋貂possum相似，因此澳洲的华人广泛将“袋貂”称呼为“负鼠”。但此用法属于误用，澳洲“负鼠”，详见“袋貂”一词。
