女,1924年7月生,浙江慈溪人。上海复旦大学外文系教授。1948年毕业于沪江大学。长期从事英语语言的教学和研究工作。多次编著《大学文科英语》等教材。中共党员。教授,享受国务院特殊津贴。1979、1981、1983年度上海市劳动模范。曾任复旦大学外文系副系主任、第一届全国大学外语教学指导委员会副主任委员、后任全国大学英语四、六级考试委员会副主任委员,《大学英语》系列教材总主编。该系列教材由全国六所重点大学合作编写,1992年获全国高等院校优秀教材特等奖。我国著名英语教育专家、复旦大学教授、外教社著名作者、《大学英语》系列教材总主编董亚芬先生因病医治无效于2011年5月28日在上海第一人民医院去世,享年86岁。
