市中心英语怎么写

英语里市中心的单词就叫做downtown，这是通过不断的演化形成的。

参考如下 city center downtown area central + 城市名 ,比如 central London

其实这是美式英语的说法，在英式英语中更多用city center。这是因为在北美地区，早期的城市一般是从沿海地区开始由南向北发展的，所以南部往往成为最繁华的市中心。最典型的的就是下图中的纽约曼哈顿。曼哈顿岛分为上城（uptown），中城（midtown）和下城（downtown）。

而欧洲的大城市主要是围绕某一中心区域向外围扩建。比如下图中的伦敦及其外围区域。
