Never Put off until Tomorrow What You Can Do Today

We have been told that never put off until tomorrow what you can do today since childhood. However, there are still many people who like putting off the things that should do today until tomorrow.They have no plans for their work and their time. As a result, they will not accomplish their goals in the end. For example, one Sunday I felt so tired after having a football match that I did not finish my homework even at night. I thought I could get up earlier to go to school the next morning so that I could finish my homework before class. But the next morning I was not able to get to school in time because of the traffic jam. I was punished by the teacher. It taught me a lesson. From then on I made a determination that I would never put off anything important until the next day. Please remember: Work today, for you don’t know how much you may be hindered tomorrow. Seize the present day,cherish every minute you have now and trust the tomorrow as little as possible.

How to Use Our Brain

Human brain is the most complex and intelligent mechanism in the world. It is the major factor that distinguishes man from animals. With our brain we get to know the world and make a good use of the world to our benefit.

Our brain is a product of constant use through millions of years. Other things can be used up, but used properly, our brain can never be exhausted. In fact, the more we use it, the more capable and efficient it will become. Excessive use of the brain, however, will causea lot of problems. So it is useful to know how to use our brain wisely.

First, handwork or physical labor is good exercise as well as rest for our brain. Doing handwork and brain work alternatively can help develop both our brain and hands. Secondly, we should avoid doing brainwork for long hours on end. The brain, though 3% of the body weight, when at work, consumes 20% of the oxygen carried by 16% of the blood in circulation. A long period of brainwork may cause, through lack of bodily activity, slow blood circulation and inadequate oxygen supply to the brain, resulting in inefficiency and possible damage to the brain.

Population to Be Curbed (A)

Nothing in today's world is as big a problem as that of population. People begin to worry about the support capacity of the earth. And there might be only standing room for each person in the future.

Lima's population was 5. 7 million in 1985 but it grew to 9. 1 million in 2000. Tianjin's was 7.9 million in 1985. In 2000, it boosted to 9. 7 million. Such cities as London, Osaka, Moscow, Beijing, Karachi, Delhi, Jakarta, Seoul, and Teheran are having a similar population growth. Calcutta, Shanghai, New York, and Sto Paulo see a faster population explosion. Tokyo had 18.8 million in 1985. In 2000 it turned into 20.2 million. Mexico city had 17.3 million people in 1985, but in 2000, its population reached 25.8 million!

What does the population growth mean? It means greater and greater consumption and greater pressure for the earth. If more people are added to the world population without our being alert or taking any action, we would have only standing room by the end of the 21st century.

Each government and the UN should see that population of each country and each city stops growing for the next fifty years.

Population to Be Curbed (B)

Everything grows in modern times, and it seems that nothing grows as quickly as population. Population keeps growing, and grows rapidly, firstly because people's living standards keep going up, with better houses, better clothing, better food, secondly because people know how to preserve themselves so as to live longer, and thirdly

because they have modern medicine and medical care to ensure that usual diseases can be easily cured. There is another cause for the growth of population. Few countries or governments have realised the importance of family planning. On the contrary, some encourage child-birth.

Here are some examples of population growth from 1985 to 2000 (as anticipated).

Lima had 5.7 million people in 1985 but there were 9.1 million by 2000. Tianjin used to have 7. 9 million in 1985. By 2000 its population reached 9. 7 million. Such cities as London, Osaka, Moscow, Beijing, Karachi, Delhi, Jakarta, Seoul, and Teheran are having a similar population growth. We would not be shocked if all other cities have this rate. But some cities, like Calcutta, Shanghai, New York, and Sto Paulo boost their population even more quickly than the above-mentioned cities. Tokyo had 18.8 million in 1985. The year 2000 found 20.2 million Tokyo citizens. Mexico city had 17.3 million people in 1985, but as population specialists had predicted, that reached 25.8 million in 2000 !

The population problem is a universal concern nowadays. Any government is a failure if it does nothing about its population growth.

My View on Job-hopping

People have different attitudes towards their work. Some prefer to stick to one occupation as their lifelong career. These people are of the opinion that one can never do his work well unless he is devoted to only one job in his lifetime. So if one changes his job frequently, he will not get the necessary experience needed in his work.

Others, on the other hand, like to change their jobs at times. In their opinion, people work in order to make more money. If they havea chance to get a better paid job, they will certainly try to get this chance. Besides, if a person does only one job all his life, he will certainly be bored with it.

My idea is that interest is the most important if one wants to excel others in his job. So if a person is not interested in his job, job hopping is normal and even necessary. Otherwise, he will suffer from his work, and inevitably, he is not likely to succeed in his career.

英语四级满分作文范文欣赏

引导语:学习别人的长处,来完善自己短处,这样才可以不断的进步。那么下面就和我一起来欣赏一下英语四级满分作文吧,希望可以帮助到大家。

满分范文一

作文题目:

Intelligence-Nature or Nurture

1) 有人认为智力是天生的;

2) 也有人认为智力是环境决定的;

3) 如何更好地发展智力。

参考范文:

Are some people born clever, and others born stupid Or is intelligence developed by our environment or experience Strangely enough, the answer to both questions is yes。

On the one hand, if we take two people at random from the crowd, it is very likely that their degrees of intelligence will be completely different. However, if we take two identical twins, chances are that they will be as intelligent as each other. Therefore, a conclusion can be drawn that intelligence is to some extent something we are born with. The closer the blood relationship between two people, the closer they are likely to be in intelligence。

On the other hand, though, if we put two identical twins in different environments, for example, we might send one to university and the other to a factory where the work is boring, we would find differences in their intelligence several years later, which indicates that environment does play a crucial role in our intelligence。

Just as every coin has two sides, our intelligence is partly born and partly developed. The sure way to develop our intelligence is intelligent parents as well as a good environment.

满分范文二

作文题目:

On Overseas Study

1. 有人认为出国留学[微博]是个人发展的最佳选择;

2. 也有人坚持在国内也能实现自己的理想;

3. 我的'看法。

参考范文:

With the deepening of reform and opening-up of our country, many people dream of going abroad for further study. They insist that there are more modern research facilities, world famous professors and excellent environment in some foreign colleges and universities, which lay a perfect foundation for their future development. However, there are still many people who favor studying at home. They argue that, for one thing, studying abroad is too expensive and therefore doesn't pay off. For another, there are no language and cultural barriers if they study in our country. Just as the old saying goes, "Every advantage has its disadvantage," so I believe both opinions are acceptable in some sense. If students have the chances and financial resources, they should seize the opportunity to go abroad and broaden their eyes. On the other hand, if conditions don't permit, they can pursue their studies at top universities in our country. What counts is not the place where they study, but what they can learn.

满分范文三

作文题目:

Should CET-4(6) Be Abandoned

1. 有人认为应该废除大学英语四(六)级考试;

2. 其他人认为应该保留四(六)级考试;

3. 我的看法。

参考范文:

There has been a heated discussion about whether to keep the College English Test Band 4(6) in the universities. Some people argue that the test has become an obstacle to the teaching of English on campuses, while others maintain that the advantages of the test outweigh its disadvantages. As far as the first group of people are concerned, they give the following arguments. For one thing, many students spend most of their time preparing for the test, therefore their focus is not on learning English better but on getting a high mark. For another, many teachers don't concentrate on how to improve the students' abilities. They only care how many of their students can pass the test. However, there are many people who believe the test should stay. To begin with, the test is the most effective way to measure how well the students have learned English. What's more, we can come up with some ways to lessen the negative effect. As far as I am concerned, each side is right in a certain way. We have to keep the test so students will have better motivation to learn English. However, we can't attach too much importance to the scores of the test.

满分范文四

Private Cars

1) 发展私人汽车的好处(提高人们的生活水平;刺激经济增长);

2) 私人汽车带来的问题(环境污染;交通事故);

3) 我的看法。

参考范文:

Private cars have become an important aspect of people's life in many parts of our country, especially in large cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. While they bring much convenience to people, they are also widely criticized. There are some arguments for owning private cars. In the first place, cars allow people to move around freely, which greatly improves our living standard. We can easily drive cars for sightseeing on weekends. In the second place, cars are a comfortable way to travel, especially in bad weather. Last but not least, the car industry can boost economy by creating many job opportunities in production of steel, rubber, glass and so on. However, there are also many good arguments against cars. First of all, they pollute the environment by emitting harmful gases and giving out loud noises. In addition, cars cause a large number of traffic accidents, which bring great misery to the victims' families. As far as I am concerned, we should limit the number of private cars by providing better mass transportation and better service for the people. Everyone should sacrifice his or her own interest for the common good of the society.
