Skid是滑道、打滑的意思，在包装中是“滑木包装”的意思，通常指滑木箱。根据中华人民共和国国家标准GB/T4122，木容器型式 术语的解释，滑木箱是指①采用滑木结构的底盘②侧面和端面采用箱板和箱档制成的③木制的箱子。滑木箱由滑木结构的底座、侧面、端面及顶盖构成。滑木箱的标准英文说法为：Skid wooden box。滑木箱分为木板封闭箱(A型)、木板花格箱(B型)和胶合板封闭箱(C型)。北京飞捷腾达 滑木箱（胶合板封闭箱）滑木箱和普通木箱有什么区别？滑木箱因为有一个用于承重的底座（即木箱下面连着一个类似托盘的木结构），所以滑木箱比普通木箱能承受更大的载荷，因此更加坚固，适合用于包装较为笨重的中型机械设备等产品。而普通木箱主要以端面和侧面为基础来承载，强度和载荷较滑木箱小。为什么叫做滑木箱？滑木包装怎么来的？有一个挺有意思的解释是这样的：托盘（包括带托盘底座的滑木箱）是使静态货物转变为动态货物的媒介物，一种载货平台，而且是活动的平台，或者说是可移动的地面。即使放在地面上失去灵活性的货物，一经装上托盘便立即获得了活动性，成为灵活的流动货物，因为装在托盘上的货物，在任何时候都处于可以转入运动的准备状态中（使用叉车、地牛等装卸搬运设备可以轻易搬运这些装在托盘上的货物）。也许这就是SKID滑木包装的由来，仅供参考。SKID包装是不是SKD包装呀？SKID包装不是SKD包装。SKD是Semi-Knocked Down的简称，意为半拆开的、半分解的。与SKD相关的是CKD，即Completely-Knocked Down的简称，意为完全拆开的、完全分解的。SKD和CKD包装在运输包装中极为常见。比如：很多家具都是SKD或CKD包装，都是运到了家里或者办公室等最终用户的地点才拆开包装，将产品组装起来。比如：在国际汽车、摩托车贸易中，出口商往往把成品拆散，以半成品或零部件的方式出口，再由进口商在进口国自行装配，组成整车成品，再进行销售。
