大熔炉”是指美国可以融合世界各种不同的文化为美国文化,众所皆知美国是移民国家,美国的移民来自世界的各个角落.有欧洲的,南美的,非洲的,亚洲的等等.每个移民族群都有自己的文化,但美国社会不排斥这些文化,不同的文化在美国这样开放,民主,法制的国家里融合着,形成多元的美国文化.就像一个大熔炉似的把不同文化融合在一起.而非单一的英国殖民地文化.所以说美国是个大熔炉.
