英语的话有词根词缀，如 ~less, 就是表示逗without 没有地的意思， 如 merciless 无情的，useless 没有用的； 如pre, 有先的意思，如preview, 预览； prerequisite 前提等等。 这些词根词缀应该是从拉丁语或其他更古老的语种中变化而来，有点类似中文里的边旁部首。还有些新词、外来词就是各种语言中采纳、转化过来的，比如逗rendezvous 约会地可能是从法语来的，而逗dim sum 点心地 则可能来自粤语 等等这都是我的个人理解，如有不对的地方请多多包涵
