一、morning
1、含义：n. 早晨；上午；开端。
2、用法
morning的基本意思是“破晓，黎明，早晨，上午”，通常指从太阳升起到正午的这段时间，也可指从午夜零点到正午这段时间。引申还可表示“初期，早期”。
在美式英语中, morning的复数形式mornings可用作状语，意思是“每天早晨，每天上午”，也可表示“在上午”。

二、noon
1、含义：n. 正午；中午；全盛期；顶点。
2、用法
12世纪中期进入英语，直接源自古英语的non，意为下午三点；最初源自拉丁语的nona hora，意为白天第九个小时。

用in the noon表示“晌午”前后一段时间，为非正式用法。

afternoon与this， that，yesterday， tomorrow， every， all等限定词连用时相当于副词短语,其前不使用介词。afternoon用作状语时，其前也不使用介词。

四、evening

2、用法
evening作“傍晚，黄昏，晚上”解时，指晚饭后、下班后或者日落后到就寝前这段时间，可用作可数名词，也可用作不可数名词。evening还可作联欢性、娱乐性的“晚会”解，这时是可数名词。

五、night
1、含义：n. 夜晚；adj. 夜晚的。
2、用法
night意为“夜晚”，所指的时间一般从下午6点到第二天上午6点，也可指从日落到日出这段时间，还可指从夜间睡下到次日起床这段时间。night是抽象名词，故其前通常不加the，但特指时则要加the。
在美式英语中其复数nights可用作状语，意思是“每夜”。
