基数词是指描述事物数量的多少的数词。基数词在句中可作主语、宾语、定语、表语、同位语。英语中数词主要分为基数词和序数词两类。

序数词是 数词的一种，主要在 英语语法中讲到，在汉语中表示为“第几”。此外，在生日中，描述你出生的日期时，也用到了序数词。比如：May-first （5月1日）
