这个翻译版本由我国著名翻译家夫妇，杨宪益和戴乃迭所翻译。他俩合作翻译过全本《红楼梦》、全本《儒林外史》等名著，在国内外广受好评。
这首诗歌采用“无韵译法”，虽然没有押韵，但读起来丝毫没有违和感，有种“无韵胜有韵，无招胜有招”的感觉。
这首译文用简单的词句，把原文的含义、意境呈现得很到位，真正体现了 less is more 的境界。
首先第一句里的 endless，就比吴钧陶的 thick and fast 要恰当，体现了“雨纷纷”的本质。
第一句后面的 the rainy season in spring（春天的雨季），并没有把原句中的“清明时节”给硬翻出来，显得比较柔和，也便于外国人理解，这也是我最欣赏的一点。
另外，最让我陶醉的一组用词出现在最后一句话，非常有画面感。作者把“杏花村”，处理成“a distant hamlet nestling amidst apricot blossoms”（一个依偎在杏花丛中的遥远村落）。
nestling 用得非常精妙，描绘出村子“依偎、舒服地处在、坐落”的状态；blossom 一词也非常美妙，颇有“十里桃（杏）花，三生三世”的意境。
