The Broadcasting Station of Our School

There is a broadcasting station in our school. All kinds of programmes are broadcast here. For example, brief news, moral education, voice of the class,sports entertainment, music appreciation are broadcast on the air all over the school. It broadcasts both self-made programmes and relays. They are all good, in my opinion. If we want to improve our English, we'd better pick up the English programme every day. It isn't difficult to understand. We can also listen to English programmes on the radio. As a result, the more we listen to the programmes, the more we know. We can also write to the station to give advice or to ask for what we want.

I was born on March 18. My family is neither very rich nor very poor.My parents are peasants. They work hard to support the family. They encourage me to study well. My childhood was happy.

I like learning. I like music and sports, too. I can run very fast and am the fastest runner in my class. I am good at English, Physics and Maths.

I want to be a scientist. Scientists have made recorders, TV sets, and so on. They have also invented the computer. All these make our life rich,interesting and easy.

Jack, Mike and Brown stayed at a hotel in New York. Their room number is 501 on the 50th floor.

Yesterday evening, the lift wasn't working, so they had to walk upstairs back to their room. To make things easier, they decided to tell some stories in turn.

Jack told a long story. When he finished telling it, they had reached the 15th floor. Mike told a much longer story. He didn't finish it until they had climbed up the 40th floor. Now it was Brown's turn to tell his story. He told a very short story which was made up of only one sentence, that is, “We have left the key of our room on the desk downstairs.”

英文书信的构成可分为8个部分：信头(Heading), 日期(Date), 收信人姓名及地址(Inside Name and Address), 称呼(Salutation), 信文(Body of the letter), 结束语(Complimentary close), 署名(Signature), 附言。1、信头(Heading)：信头是指发信人的单位名称或地址。一般情况下发信人只需把自己的地址写(打字，手写均可)在信的右上角，离开信纸的顶头约1英寸，占二三行或四行均可，格式如下：①齐头式 ②缩进式2、日期(Date):写日期注意下列各点：①年份应写全，例如不能用“99”来代替“1999”；②月份应写英文名称，除May, July外，可用缩写，如：Sep., Oct.。但不要用数字来代替，如7／4／99 或7， 4， 99，因为在英国此日期代表 7th April，1999，而美国则代表4th July，1999。 ③日期可用1，2，3，4…11，12…21，22…31等，也可用lst，2nd，3rd，4th…11th，21th…22nd…31st等。 日期的几种写法：a．July 7，1998 b．1st October, 1998 c．30 Nov., 1997 d．Sep. 3rd, 1999 ④特别注意英文书信日期应紧接着写信人地址下一行，不能像写中文书信那样写在书信签名之后，这是很多学生的常见错误。3、收信人姓名及地址(Inside Name and Address)：写信人的地址和日期写好以后，接着就要写收信人的姓名和地址，一般的事务信件或给较生疏的朋友的信件要写，而在给极熟的朋友的信中则可省去。这一项写在日期下一行的左上角。收信人姓名写一行，收信人地址可分两行或三行写，和写信人的地址一样，上下可取齐，也可以向右缩进。在姓名前一般要加上称号，称号因人而异。4、称呼(Salutation)：称呼指的是信文开头的那种称呼，如Dear , Mr, Uncle，各种称呼因人而异。在称呼后面一般是用逗号，但也有用冒号的。5、信文(Body of the letter)信文是信件的主体部分，也就是信的内容。正文应在称呼下两行开始。信的开头第一个字母通常和称呼开头第一个词平齐。也有往后退四个或八个字母的。下面介绍一些开头语和结尾语6、结尾语7、署名(Signature)8、附言(Postscript)：发信人有时在写完信后又想起一件比较重要的事没有说，可以在信末署名下面几行写上， P. S. (Postscript 的缩写)，然后将要补充的话写上。

写作思路：用书信的形式给朋友写出自己的心情，表达出自己思念朋友。

英语书信的格式1、信头（heading）信头包括写信人地址和写信日期，通常写在信笺的右上角。在比较熟识的朋友之间的通信，写信人的地址常可略去。本课的信头就只写了写信日期，而没有写信人的地址。日期通常有下列两种定法：（a）月、日、年：如august15，200__（b）日、月、年：如15thaugust，200__地址的写法通常是由小到大，如：门牌号、街道名、市（县）名、省名、国名（邮政编码通常写在城市名之后）。这同中文书信的地址写法完全相反。地址可以写1～3行，日期写在地址的下方（见信笺格式）。2、称呼（salutation）称呼指写信人对收信人的称呼，如dearxiaojun，写在信头的下方和信笺的左边。称呼一般用dear…或mydear…开头，称呼后一般用逗号。3、正文（body）这是书信的主体部分，即写信人要表达的内容。正文要求文字通顺，层次分明，表意清楚。可以手书，也可以打写。4、结束语（complimentaryclose）它是书信结尾的恭维话，相当于文中书信最后的“祝好”、“致礼”之类的话语。本课书信中的“bestwishes”（致以最好的祝愿）就是结束语。5、签名（signature）签名通常签在结束语下方的中间偏右的位置，如本课信中的charlie。签名应是亲笔书写，即使是打写机打出的信件，最后仍需亲笔签名。在签名的上方可根据写信人和收信人的关系写上sincerelyyours/yourssincerely（用于长辈或朋友之间），或respectfullyyours/yoursrespectfully（用于对长辈或上级）。Dear Mr. Green,I am very excited that we are going to start a magazine together .
