Being the famous "Ice City" in northeastern China, Harbin attracts the visitors from home and abroad by the Harbin Ice and Snow Festival it helds each year. It is a happy carnival which provides visitors a whole new world of ice and snow. The 26th Harbin Ice and Snow Festival will be opened on Jan.5 in 2010. The best collections of ice artworks are exhibited in the following five main places:哈尔滨国际冰雪节是我国历史上第一个以冰雪活动为内容的国际性节日，是世界四大冰雪节之一。自1985年1月5日创办以来，智慧、勤劳、勇敢的哈尔滨人化严寒为艺术、赋冰雪以生命，将千里冰封、万里雪飘的北国冬天，创造成融文化、体育、旅游、经贸、科技等多领域活动为一体的黄金季节。成为世界著名的冰雪盛会。经地方立法，1月5日已成为哈尔滨人的盛大节日。
