Deng Yaping, a former Chinese female table tennis players, was born in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. She was selected into Henan Sports Team in 1983 and then joined the national team in 1988. After retiring in 1997 she went for further study personally. In her athletics career, she won 18 world championships, 4 Olympic championships in 2 consecutive competitions. Deng Yaping is the first consecutive Olympic table tennis gold medal winner and won 4 gold medals in the Olympic Games, known as the Table Tennis Queen. She is the first little giant of the ping pong world. Dengyaping and the former International Olympic Committee President Samaranch developed friendship beyond ages. And the story has become a popular tale! In 2001 she became one of Beijing Olympic team and Beijing's image applying for Olympics. On April 16, 2009, she became the vice secretary of Beijing Communist Youth League.
