1、donkey's years 猴年马月

为什么猴年马月不是 monkey's years 而是 donkey's years 呢？这要从一个古老的传说说起：从前在海上航行的人，他们搬运东西用一种名为 donkey 的曲柄工具。

但是使用这种工具的工作效率非常低下，于是每当有人问“还需要多久?”时，他们就会回答 donkey's years。于是 donkey's years 就被用来表示很长时间的意思啦。

还有一种说法是：因为驴耳朵很长，而 years 和 ears 发音又很相似，再者，驴比其他动物，例如马、牛都要活得长久，所以人们就用“驴的岁数”来表示漫长的时间。
