集装箱计算单位，简称：TEU，是英文Twenty Equivalent Unit的缩写， 又称20英尺换算单位，是计算集装箱箱数的换算单位。也称国际标准箱单位 。通常用来表示船舶装载集装箱的能力 ，也是集装箱和港口吞吐量的重要统计、换算单位。

各国大部分集装箱运输，都采用20英尺和40英尺长的两种集装箱。为使集装箱箱数计算统一化，把20英尺集装箱作为一个计算单位，40尺集装箱作为两个计算单位，以利统一计算集装箱的营运量。

在统计集装箱数量时有的一个术语：自然箱，也称"实物箱"。自然箱是不进行换算的实物箱，即不论是40英尺集装箱，30英尺集装箱，20英尺集装箱或10英尺集装箱均作为一个集装箱统计。

集装箱有6种。

1、干货箱（DRY CONTAINER，简写DC或GP）

2、冷藏箱（REEFER CONTAINER，简写RF，高箱简写为HR） 有货物温度的要求，如鲜货，还有某些需要恒温的货物等。

3、开顶箱（OPEN TOP，简写OT） 开顶箱可以由顶部装入货物，特别适用于机械等超大型货物。开顶箱配备PVC防水帆布罩和带铁索密封装置的可装卸框架。开顶箱的门可以拆卸，便于装箱。

4、框架箱（FLAT RACK，简写FR） 框架箱专门为需从顶部或两侧装箱的较重货物而设计，如管道和机器。有壁或无壁、可折叠或不可折叠。

5、挂衣箱（HANGER CONTAINER，简写HT） 客户可以选择使用绳装或棍装、或两者并用悬挂服装。此种集装箱灵活性高，内部容量大，还可节省运输和处理成本。

6、罐装箱 （TANKER CONTAINER） 是运输液体的专用集装箱（容器）。 另外，还有铁路集装箱和空运集装箱，都有其特点。
