阿弭陀佛。我们必须先了解佛教中所谓「法师」这个名词的正确定义。佛教的「法师」，是指「解说佛法」的老师。而非「操作法术」的法术师！想当年，在这「法师」二字之前，还有一个「三藏」的名词----(「经、律、论」三藏皆通)----「三藏法师」才是其正确的全称。所以，佛教的出家人也并非全都可以自称法师。而是必须经律论皆通、而且又有足够的学识及口才可以将这些佛法转述、弘扬给大众的人，才有资格被冠以「三藏法师」----后世辗转只简称法师----这个称号。因此，Monk（僧侣）并不能表达其意，Master(师父)也不能代表其意，（打铁铺的徒弟也必须如此称呼其师父）Witch、Wizard、Cleric等等的「指环王」或「哈利波特」类的对应名词就更离谱了......（哈哈哈，阿弭陀佛。阿弭陀佛。）所以看完前面这几位网友的回答之后，觉得「最安全」的翻译，是「why8008208820」的XUANZANGFASHI ；（哈哈哈。您的确很聪明！！）而如果要与「三藏法师」的原汁原味吻合的话......则应该是「Dr. XuanZang」、或是「Dr. XuanZang of Buddha Priest」???哈哈哈。阿弭陀佛。阿弭陀佛.....（欢迎大家发挥脑力、兢答之） :)

梵文意译。佛教经典的总称。分经、律、论三部分。经，总说根本教义；律，记述戒规威仪；论，阐明经义。通晓三藏的僧人，称三藏法师，如 唐 玄奘 称 唐三藏 。 南朝 梁 沉约 《内典序》:“义隐三藏之外，事非二乘所窥。” 唐 玄奘 《大唐西域记·迦毕试国》:“我若不通三藏理，不断三界欲，得六神通，具八解脱，终不以胁而至于席。” 姚雪垠 《李自成》第二卷三一章:“他近几年来持律极严，更加精研经、论，想在生前做一个三藏具足的和尚。”
