When we arrived at the hotel we were disappointed with its appearance for an oriental 4 star rating hotel even though the reception by the staff was very warm. When we went to our room we discovered the room had two single beds when we had booked a double room, even though the room was clean the room was very very old. After traveling overnight we were exhausted and didn't complain until the following day. We were told there were no double rooms available but we had been upgraded. We were shocked by this comment, we then thought how bad was the room we had originally booked. The hotel knew we were upset about the situation and tried to compensate by giving us a bottle of sparkling wine. That night we went to the seafood buffet on the fifth floor which was 285000 dong per person including wine. This by Vietnamese standards was not a cheap meal. The waiting staff that were rostered on that night could not speak English. We arrived at 6.30pm and there was only limited seafood left and was not replaced as normal buffets do. Again we were disappointed and decided not to eat in the hotel again. We tried the cafe restaurant on the ground floor the food was average and not one staff member spoke English. We were very happy with the location and if in Ho Chi Minh again we would stay in the same location but definitely at a different hotel. We stayed in Ho Chi Minh in November for 7 days and did everything we could do in this time. It was a wonderful lesson in history and we enjoyed the people very much.11月份,我们在Ho Chi Minh 停留了7天,玩了在这段时间能玩的一切。

A: I heard you received a prize for you book.
B:Yyes, I did. I won a prize for “best local history book” at the annual book award.
A: Congratulations! You must be very proud of your achievement.
B: Actually, I was happy just to get the book published. Winning the prize was an added bonus.
A: What was the prize?
B: I won $200 to spend on any books of my choice.
A: That’s a great prize for a person who writes books! Have you ever won a prize before?
B: I shared a prize with some friends last week. We won a bottle of whisky at a pub quiz.
A; I won $10 in the lottery last month. Perhaps next time, I’ll be luckier and win the jackpot!
A: 恭喜你!

A: Have you bought a present for Jim’s birthday yet?
B: No, I haven’t. I can’t think of anything to get him.
A: I’m having the same problem. I want to get something really special. Jim always seems to know exactly what to get people as gifts.
B: I know. He bought me that beautiful sweater for my birthday. It was exactly what I wanted. And it fit me perfectly!
A: He bought me an iron.
B: That doesn’t sound like a great present.
A: Maybe not, but my iron was getting old. In fact, it stopped working the week after jim bought me the new one. It’s as if he knew that my old iron would soon stop working!
B: Let’s think. He loves football, doesn’t he? I saw signed photographs of famous footballers in a shop near here. Let’s go and have a look. You know which team he supports, don’t you?
A: Yes, I do. Let’s go. We should be able to find something suitable. We should get him something old…something historic.
B: It’ll be an expensive present, but we can share the cost.
A: I’ll be happy to get him something special, even if it costs a little extra.
B: Yes. He always get us special gift. We should repay his kindness.
A: 是的。
A: I’m looking forward to relaxing this ing weekend.
B: I hope that I can finally find some free time too. I’ve been so busy at work recently.
A: How might you spend the weekend?
B: I hope to do a little gardening. I find it very relaxing.
A: I might do that too. I hope the weather is nice. I could go and play some golf.
B: I heard that the weather should be good. There’s a possibility of a shower, but it’s not very likely.
A:Hopefully, we’ll both have relaxing weekends.
B: Of course, something could e up and stop that wish ing true.
A: Unfortunately, there’s always the possibility of some urgent work requiring our attention.

A: What do you hope to do when you finish university?
B: I’d like to go into management. I’ve applied for several jobs already and I’m hopeful that I’ll get some job offers. How about you?
A: After I graduate, I have to do some more studies to pass exams to bee a lawyer. I think I’ve got a good chance of passing. There’s a possibility of getting a job with a law firm in London, provided that I do well.
B: We both have to overe several obstacles if we are to achieve our ambitions.
A: If life were easy, then we’d achieve our ambition quickly and then get bored.
B: Unfortunately, it’s inevitable that some people are going to work hard yet not succeed.
A: That’s why ambition need to be realistic. You can’t achieve something that’s totally unrealistic.
B: As long as you plan carefully, most thing are possible. It’s always good to have a backup plan in case things go wrong.
A: I think it’s important to be successful in a field you are truly interested in, not something that other people force you to be interested it.

A:Hi. Could you give me a hand with this report?
B:Sure. I’d be happy to give you some hints and advice.
A:Thanks. Would you mind taking a look at the layout? Do you think it’s appropriate? I want it to be formal, but not boring to look at.
B:It looks good to me. I would suggest that you put the client’s logo and our logo on each page. The bosses seem to like that.
A:That’s an excellent suggestion. I can easily do it on the puter.
B:Why don’t you use a different font the headings? They’ll be more distinct.
A:I’ll take that suggestion too. How about the content?
B:I think you’ve included all the essential things. You might want to make the conclusion a little longer. Restate your reasons clearly.
A:Is it OK to include the pictures?
B:Definitely! I would include one or two on each page if possible. Remember that you should make the report as eye-catching as possible.
A:Thanks for those ideas. I’ll get to work on them right away.
A:谢谢。

A: hello. How was the marketing meeting?
B: hi. It was awful. I think I put forward some great ideas, but none of them were accepted.
A: I’m surprised to hear that. I thought you had some very good suggestions.
B: So did I. I ran the ideas by a few people before the meeting and the ideas seemed to have the supports of some people.
A: So what happened in the meeting?
B: One or two people didn’t take to my ideas very well. That was to be expected. The worst thing was that the people who said the ideas were good before the meeting didn’t support me during the meeting.
A: I wonder why not. We could always revise the suggestions, to take into account any objections.
B: That’s good advice, but I’m not confident that even revised proposals will be accepted.
A: may I make a suggestion?
B: sure. I’m open to any reasonable suggestions.
A: Is there a chance you could contact the client confidentially and see what they think? If they like your ideas, perhaps they could put them forward as their own proposals. You won’t get credit for the ideas, but the client will know they were yours.
B: I’m not sure that’s a good idea.
A: Go on. Take a chance. You could just hint at your idea. The client should be *** art enough to take a hint.
A:你好!
A:试试吧。
