荷兰位于欧洲西部，东面与德国为邻，南接比利时。西、北濒临北海，地处莱茵河、马斯河和斯凯尔特河三角洲。位于东经3°21'至7°13'、北纬50°45'至53°52'之间。荷兰国土总面积达41864平方千米。
本土
荷兰国土南北最远端相距约300千米，东西最远端距离约200千米，总面积为41864平方千米。沿海有1800多千米长的海坝和岸堤，海岸线长1075千米。十三世纪以来共围垦约7100多平方千米的土地，相当于荷兰陆地面积的五分之一，如今荷兰国土的18%是人工填海造出来的。
海外
除本土外，荷兰管辖着两个海外领地：阿鲁巴和安的列斯群岛，面积为980平方千米。
阿鲁巴（Aruba）是一个位于加勒比海地区的岛屿，位于南美洲国家委内瑞拉北方的委内瑞拉湾外海，距离巴拉瓜纳半岛（ParaguanaPeninsula）约25千米。1986年成为荷兰王国一个单独的政治实体，荷兰继续负责该岛的国防和对外事务。
