pass即是通过也是淘汰的意思，举两个例子：你把面试pass了=你成功了。面试官把你pass了=你挂了。
“ pass掉是被淘汰的意思”：此时pass作用于人，理解为人被pass，人被ko了，所以人失败了，被淘汰。
“pass是通过”：此时pass作用于考试，理解为考试被pass，考试被ko了，所以考试失败了，被淘汰。而此时相反的，参加考试的人，就通过了。
现在很多综艺节目中的pass，其实也就是作用于本次挑战测试，选手pass了这次测试。pass 在作及物动词并且宾语是人的时候似乎表示淘汰某人。表示某个人被忽略掉了，被无视了，被越过了, 被跳过了。我们中文常说的，你被pass了，相当于英语的被动语态。你就是pass的宾语。

pass的意思是通过，其本身并没有淘汰的意思。只不过打牌中pass表示“过”，衍生意思就是指这一轮我没牌出，也就是我在这一轮被淘汰了；有淘汰的意思时，都是他人的语境造成的,比如“你被pass掉了” 给人感觉就是淘汰的意思，但pass单词本身并没有这种含义。
