一、指代不同
1、due to：由于，应付。
2、be due to：因为。
二、用法不同
1、due to：due也可作“到期应付的”解，这时在句中主要用作表语，due还可作“定于某时到达”解，这时在句中可用作表语，其后常接at〔in〕介词短语。
2、be due to：due to是个短语介词，其后接名词或代词，在句中用作表语，意思是“应归于，应属于，应给予”(在美式英语中往往省略be)。也可用作状语，说明谓语动词所表示动作的原因，due to还可用于名词之后作后置定语。
三、侧重点不同
1、due to：在句中除了可做状语之外还可以做表语或者定语，在做状语的时候不能用于句首。
2、be due to：在句中与其他成分不用逗号隔开，是非常口语化的表达方式。
