Concerned people have made some progress in environmental protection. Governments of many countries have established laws to protect the air, forests and sea resources and to stop environmental pollution.
Still more measures should be taken to solve environmental problems. People should be further educated to recognize the importance of the problems, to use modern methods of birth control, to conserve our natural resources and recycle our products. We are sure that we can have a better and cleaner place in the future.

Trees on the hills have been cut down, and waste water is being poured continuously in to rivers. Furthermore, wherever we go today, we can find rubbish carelessly disposed. The whole ecological balance of the earth is changing. Massive destruction of environment has brought about negative effects and even poses a great threat to man's existence.
We must face the situation that exists and take actions to solve our environmental problems. For instance, new laws must be passed to place strict control over industrial pollution, the public must receive the education about the hazard of pollution and soon. We hope that all these measures will be effective and bring back a healthful environment.

The first thing we can do is to use cloth bags instead of plastic bags when we go shopping. It helps to protect the environment. The second thing we can do is to reuse(再利用) the old textbooks as possible as we can. We should also never forget to turn off the lights when we leave the classrooms in order to save energy.What’s more, it would be better if we walk or ride a bike to school. We should try our best to reduce pollution and waste.
In fact, even the simplest everyday activities(日常活动) can make a real difference to(对…有影响) the environment. I believe we can make the world a better place to live in.

How to protect the environment?
Today there is more and more pollution and the environment is becoming worse and worse. So we have to know how to protect the environment. Here are some ways.
First, we can stop driving our personal cars. We can go to school or work on foot or by bus. Not only can it protect environment, but also it is good for our health.
Second, we are not supposed to throw around litter anywhere. Instead, we should put them into the dustbin. And it’s best to pick up the litter on the ground when we see them.
Third, we should save the paper, the water, the food and so on. Fourth, we should protect the trees and we should plant more trees.
I think if everyone does something to protect the environment, our world will be much better.
