到，一般都要跟其它词汇搭配起来使用，比如go to，want to，too...to...，

to[ tu:, tə, tu ]adv.到某种状态；〔特指〕到停止状态；关闭。 ★也常和动词结合，略去其后宾语，而构成成语： The door is to . 门关着。 push [shut] the door to 把门关上。 bring sb. to 使苏醒。 bring (a ship) to 命令(停船)。 come to (oneself) 苏醒。 fall to 开始；开始吃；开始攻击敌人。 go to 〔古语〕喂喂；别胡说! heave to 停船。

come to/into sth: used in many expressions to show that sth has reached a particular state（表示达到某种状态）达到，进入grinding halt(phrase短语)：stop very suddenly,especially before it was meant to后面是一个短语，表示是突然停下来的一个状态，所以come to表示达到某种状态的意思。
