《Bedin Summer》是诗集《A Child's Garden of Verses（小童诗苑）》的开篇之作，是作者童年记忆的花园中一朵朴实而又经久不衰的小花。整首诗以一个小孩的视角创作。孩子带着怨气想“为什么夏天时大白天就得上床”。
