As Imperceptibly as Grief — Emily Dickinson

The summer lapsed away —

Too imperceptible at last

To seem like Perfidy — A quietness distilled

As Twilight long begun,

Or Nature spending with herself

Sequestered Afternoon —

The Dusk drew earlier in —

The Morning foreign shone —

A courteous, yet harrowing Grace,

As Guest, that would be gone —

And thus, without a Wing

Or service of a Keel

Our Summer made her light escape

Into the Beautiful.

Goodbye Again, Cambridge

I leave softly, gently,

Exactly as I came.

正如我轻轻的来;

I wave to the western sky,

Telling it goodbye softly, gently.

The golden willow at the river edge

Is the setting sun's bride.

Her quivering reflection

Stays fixed in my mind.

Green grass on the bank

Dances on a watery floor

油油的在水底招摇;

In bright reflection.

I wish myself a bit of waterweed

Vibrating to the ripple. Of the River Cam.

That creek in the shade of the great elms,

Is not a creek but a shattered rainbow, Printed on the water

And inlaid with duckweed, It is my lost dream.

Hunting a dream? Wielding a long punting pole

I get my boat into green water, Into still greener grass.

In a flood of starlight, On a river of silver and diamond

I sing to my heart's content.

But now, no, I cannot sing

Quietness is my farewell music;

悄悄是别离的笙箫;

Even Summer insects heap silence for me

Silent is Cambridge tonight!

I leave quietly

As I came quietly.

正如我悄悄的来;

Gently I flick my sleeves.

Not even a wisp of cloud will I bring away.

Hope — Emily Bronte

Hope was but a timid friend;

She sat without the grated den,

Watching how my fate would tend,

Even as selfish-hearted men.

She was cruel in her fear;

Through the bars one weary day,

I looked out to see her there,

And she turned her face away!

Like a false guard, false watch keeping,

Still in strife, she whispered peace;

一面敌对一面又暗示和平;

She would sing while I was weeping,

If I listened, she would cease.

False she was, and unrelenting;

When my last joys strewed the ground,

Even Sorrow saw, repenting,

Those sad relics scattered round;

就连“哀愁”也遗憾不已;

Hope, whose whisper would have given

Balm to all my frenzied pain,

Stretched her wings, and soared to heaven,

Went, and ne'er returned again!

Life is short. Are you doing what you love? Are you living your passion? Welcome to Faith Radio Online-Simply to Relax, I’m Faith.

If not, why? I am guessing most people will answer that question with "I have a mortgage, a spouse and three kids to support.” In the real world people have responsibilities. They have to make sacrifices. You aren't supposed to be happy with your job but you do it because you have to."

With all due respect, they are wrong. You can take care of your responsibilities and be happy with your job. We spend over 1/3 of our day, at least five days a week performing our jobs. This is a lot of time to be wasting on something we don't enjoy, is it not? Why not spend that time doing something you truly are passionate about for 50 hours a week instead of something that lacks meaning?

I think there is one main reason people don't follow their passion: fear. Fear of how others will react, fear of failure, and fear that they can't do it themselves. I think the first part is for people to realize that they can conquer their fear. You will fail at times and others will think you are crazy at times, but if you believe that you will succeed than you ultimately will.

I understand that it is not easy. I am in the middle of going through it right now. But understand that there are other people out there who have been through what you are going through and can help you immensely. They have failed, been ridiculed, and come out on the other end extremely successful. They are living proof that you can do what you love.

This is Faith at Faith Radio Online-Simply to Relax, thank you for listening to today’s program, goodbye.

to Faith Radio Online-Simply to Relax, I’m Faith. In today’s program, let’s share a few tips for being truly free.

If you are quick to take offense, then you'll be under the control of those whom you find offensive.

If you are easily angered, then your actions will be dictated by those who anger you.

If you are obsessed by what other people think, then you will be imprisoned by their thoughts.

If you yearn for easy answers and quick solutions, you'll fall prey to people who offer nothing but promises.

If you find the truth too difficult to bear, you'll be enslaved to those who tell you what you want to hear.

When you have the courage to think for yourself, the strength to accept what is, the commitment and discipline to make a difference, then you are free.

You are truly free to live with purpose, joy and fulfillment.

This is Faith at Faith Radio Online-Simply to Relax. Let your life be defined not by your reactions to what others do, say or think, but rather by your own unique vision. Raise your eyes above the pettiness and follow the path of the greatness that is within you.

A friend walks in when the rest of the world walks out

Sometimes in life, you find a special friend, someone who changes your life just being part of it; Someone who makes you laugh until you can’t stop; Someone who makes you believe that there really is good in the world; Someone who convinces you that there really is an unlocked door just waiting for you to open it.

This is forever friendship. When you’re down, and the world seems dark and empty, your forever friend lifts you up in spirits and makes that dark and empty world suddenly seem bright and full; Your forever friend gets you through the hard times, the sad times, and the confused times.

If you turn and walk away, your forever friend follows; If you lose your way, your forever friend guides you and cheers you on; Your forever friend holds your hand and tells you that everything is going to be ok.

And if you find such friend, you feel happy and complete, because you need no worry, you have a forever friend for life, and forever has no end.

This is Faith at Faith Radio Online-Simply to Relax; I do hope this online radio program could be your forever friend. At the end of today’s program, please allow me to say: thank you for dropping by.

I am part of all that I have met; Yet all experience is an arch wherethrough Gleams that untravelled world, whose margin fades For ever and for ever when I move. How dull it is to pause, to make an end, To rust unburnished, not to shine in use! As though to breath were life. Life piled on life Were all to little, and of one to me Little remains: but every hour is saved From that eternal silence, something more, A bringer of new things; and vile it were For some three suns to store and hoard myself, And this gray spirit yearning in desire To follow knowledge like a sinking star, Beyond the utmost bound of human thought. This is my son, mine own Telemachus, To whom I leave the scepter and the isle— Well-loved of me, discerning to fulfill This labour, by slow prudence to make mild A rugged people, and through soft degrees Subdue them to the useful and the good. Most blameless is he, centered in the sphere Of common duties, decent not to fail In offices of tenderness, and pay Meet adoration to my household gods, When I am gone. He works his work, I mine. There lies the port; the vessel puffs her sail: There gloom the dark broad seas. My mariners, Souls that have toiled, and wrought, and thought with me— That ever with a frolic welcome took The thunder and the sunshine, and opposed Free hearts, free foreheads—you and I are old; Old age had yet his honour and his toil; Death closes all: but something ere the end, Some work of noble note, may yet be done, Not unbecoming men that strove with Gods. The lights begin to twinkle from the rocks: The long day wanes: the slow moon climbs: the deep Moans round with many voices. Come, my friends, 'Tis not too late to seek a newer world. Push off, and sitting well in order smite The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds To sail beyond the sunset, and the baths Of all the western stars, until I die. It may be that the gulfs will wash us down: It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles, And see the great Achilles, whom we knew. Though much is taken, much abides; and though We are not now that strength which in the old days Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are, One equal-temper of heroic hearts, Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield. As I Walked Out One Evening As I walked out one evening Walking down Bristol Street, The crowds upon the pavement Were fields of harvest wheat. And down by the brimming river I heard a lover sing Under an arch of the railway: "Love has no ending. "I'll love you, dear, I'll love you Till China and Africa meet, And the river jumps over the mountain And the salmon sing in the street, "I'll love you till the ocean Is folded and hung up to dry And the seven stars go squawking Like geese about the sky. "The years shall run like rabbits, For in my arms I hold The Flower of the Ages, And the first love of the world." But all the clocks in the city Began to whirr and chime: "O let not Time deceive you, You cannot conquer Time. "In the burrows of the Nightmare Where Justice naked is, Time watches from the shadow And coughs when you would kiss. "In headaches and in worry Vaguely life leaks away, And Time will have his fancy To-morrow or to-day. "Into many a green valley Drifts the appalling snow; Time breaks the threaded dances And the diver's brilliant bow. "O plunge your hands in water, Plunge them in up to the wrist; Stare, stare in the basin And wonder what you've missed. "The glacier knocks in the cupboard, The desert sighs in the bed, And the crack in the tea-cup opens A lane to the land of the dead. "Where the beggars raffle the banknotes And the Giant is enchanting to Jack, And the Lily-white Boy is a Roarer, And Jill goes down on her back. "O look, look in the mirror, O look in your distress; Life remains a blessing Although you cannot bless. "O stand, stand at the window As the tears scald and start; You shall love your crooked neighbour With your crooked heart." It was late, late in the evening, The lovers they were gone; The clocks had ceased their chiming, And the deep river ran on.
