Competition is a common phenomenon in our social life. We compete when we play games and when we try to do better than others in our study. There is constant competition for academic degrees, jobs, customers, money and so forth. In a sense, competition is one of the motive force to the development of society.

In fact, the only way our world reward people is to give laurels to the winners, not to the losers. What is more, by attempting to compete at different activities, we learn to win and lose, gain experience and know our strengths and weaknesses. Competition prepares us for the tough things in life.

To go ahead, to acquire possession, we should be competitive. To us, industriousness and ambition are positive values.

一片片白云在湛蓝的天空上慢慢的遨游各遍，露出半脸的.太阳，射出一道微落的光线，照亮了班级的一小部分的地方。

第二节课，英语课。张老师举行了一个英语竞争赛，比赛规则是这样的：“总共有两个比赛环节，分成四组........如果哪一组分数最少的，哪一组今天作业翻倍。”张老师的话音刚落，我们开始激动起来。

“well，well，well。”张老师迅速说完，放出了‘剪刀’，我的面前空了一大部分，四个组里几乎只剩下四个到六个“fan，fan，fan。”张老师放出了‘石头’，又有一些人坐下了....当到了最后一个单词的时候，我开始觉得有点像战争，我方剩下三人，而敌方三国，只剩下一国里的一人小兵了，我有点大喜，周围旁边的人都在为我大气。“大家别激动，最后一个单词咯，team，team，team。”张老师放出了‘布’。我自豪地举起了手就似举起胜利的旗子，我看看周围，一个人都没有，只剩下我和我的同桌。

这次英语竞争赛，我和我的同桌为组里加了两分，提升了分数，第三组失败了，我感到自豪，因为，这是我根本想不到的。

First of all, competing is more important than cooperation in our society. In school, we compete with others by doing better in our study.

When we are looking for jobs, we compete with others applying for the same position. When we go to a competition, we fight with others for rewards or fame.

Secondly, we can be stronger by competing. If we want to win others, then we have to be stronger than others. Thus, we have to improve ourselves constantly. Consequently, our skills will be enhanced and we will get more experience to avoid failure.

In conclusion, competition plays an important role in our society as well as we can become stronger.
