剧情：
在抗美援朝战争第二次战役中，中国人民志愿军第9兵团将美军精锐部队分割包围于长津湖地区，歼敌1.3万余人，扭转了战场态势。电影《长津湖》以长津湖战役为背景，讲述了志愿军在极寒严酷环境下坚守阵地奋勇杀敌，为长津湖战役胜利作出重要贡献的感人故事。
历史原型：
1950年11月，新兴里战斗，志愿军第27军80师239团2营4连（连长李昌言，指导员庄元东）作为尖刀连，冒着严寒天气，在新兴里打掉了美军第7师第31团“北极熊团”，攻破其团指挥所、击毙其团长。他们缴获的“北极熊团”团旗如今陈列在军事博物馆。
此次战斗中，4连共击毙敌300余人，缴获榴弹炮12门，为志愿军第27军以劣势装备全歼现代化装备美军一个加强团，做出了至关重要的贡献。1950年12月，该连被授予“新兴里战斗模范连”称号。后经多次转隶，该连被整编为陆军第82集团军某旅4连。
