学术英语句子改写

你的及楼上几位的句子，问题不只是不够"academic"。有些表达也用得不地道。1. 疑问句的语序错了。一楼这点改得对。2. would like to意思是想要做什么。这样说即使翻译成中文也不通。你想说的是愿意，英文是would be willing to。3. pay more money to get something啰嗦吧？这年头还有不用钱买的东西吗？pay for something是现成的英语短语，中间加上more就行了。4. 定语从句前面要有that。口语中可以省略但是论文可不行。5. 在口语中if和whether可以互换，但是正式文件中两者的区别一定要搞清楚。if表示条件：他们不确定如果他们用(你看这意思偏到哪儿去了？)。whether表示两种可能：用或不用。为了更清楚，甚至可以加上or not。改过后的全句是：Why would someone be willing to pay more for something that they are not sure whether (or not) they will ever use it?再改得更地道些，把最后的部分改成被动语态：Why would someone be willing to pay more for something that they are not sure whether (or not) it will ever be used?
