This is because lies are sometimes necessary incommunication. There are two types of lies, the white lies and the black ones.White lies are told with good intentions, to make the person being lied to feelbetter. Dark lies are told with intentions to manipulate and hurt. In thisessay, I will be focusing on white lies.White lies are everywhere; teachers tell them to students so thatthe students will feel more encouraged and put even more effort into theirwork. Doctors and relatives hide the patients’ real conditions so that thepatients can be more optimistic. Lovers sometimes say flowery language theymight not actually mean to keep their partner happy.（后面这里我改不了，因为我不知道你讲的是哪一个故事） Because of the beautiful lies, Iam deeply touched by the story in which a painter drew a leaf everyday outsidehis window to raise hope of a terminally ill patient.Sometimes, lying helps usto deal with tough things and get another opportunity to make them better. Therefore,whether it is morally correct to tell lies cannot be easily concluded by adefinite answer. Instead, it should be judged by its motivation.As a high school student, the expectations of my teachers and the hopesof my parents give me great pressure. When I do not perform well enough in atest, I sometimes tell lies to avoid letting them down. However, because of theshame and unease I feel due to the lie, I will be motivated study harder, for the next opportunity to prove my ability.Followed by the same standard, when I am cheated, I will calmmyself down and think about the motivation of the lie. If it is forgivable, I willchoose to give him another chance.A well-known study shows that a normal person tells three lies oneday. Whether you like it or not, lies are told everywhere and every day. So, Iwould rather enjoy it than live as a hypocrite. Telling well-meaning white liesat necessary times can make our world is more diverse; our lives are moreinteresting, full of surprises and possibilities.
