Amount和Total的区别为：指代不同、用法不同、侧重点不同。
一、指代不同
1、Amount：金额，数量。
2、Total：总额，合计。
二、用法不同
1、Amount：amount用于表示“量”“额”，如重量、金额等。amount of后一般接不可数名词，有时也可接复数可数名词，此名词被视为某一“总量”或“综述”。短语 in the amount of (总共为)可以 of 或 for 代之，to the amount (总共达)可以 to 代之。
2、Total：total的基本意思是“总的，全部的”，强调一切都计算在内，有强烈的计算意味，在句中只能作定语，不能作表语。引申可作“完全的，彻底的”解。total无比较级和最高级形式。
三、侧重点不同
1、Amount：指钱的数量，并且要带上单位。
2、Total：指金额的的总计数量，通常也要带上单位。
