inthemountain，没有onthemountain这种搭配。但如果是hill，in和on都可以用，前者是指在山里，后者指在山上。

inthemountain有位于深山老林中的意味，山上丛林、植被密布，可以将人遮盖onthemountain这种情况下，山上植被比较浅或者光秃秃的山上用in有时候也表示纵深的概念，比如在山洞里面，on表示位于位于山的表层，一般可以直接看到对象
