Cathay Pacific Airways Limited国泰航空有限公司，国泰航空主页上写的是CATHAY PACIFIC，所以“国泰航空”应该可以翻译成Cathay Pacific。

国泰航空有限公司是太古集团成员，寰宇一家创始成员之一，以香港国际机场作为其枢纽。旗下的子公司包括港龙航空及华民航空。2016年1月22日，国泰航空首架采用新涂装的747-400ERF亮相。

公司历史

1946年，美国籍的Roy Farrell 和澳大利亚籍的 Sydney de Kantzow——两位以在喜马拉雅山脉上空飞行“驼峰”航线而闻名的前空军飞行员打算将从澳大利亚将急需的货物运到战后的中国，由此诞生了国泰航空。

1948年，香港最主要的英资商行 Butterfield & Swire，收购了当时为澳美合资的国泰四成半股权。后来香港以南的航线被分予国泰经营，以北的则交予国泰本地对手香港航空经营。直至1958年，国泰收购香港航空，正式雄霸本地航空业及进军东北亚市场。
