There was once a guy who suffered from cancer, a cancer that can't be cured. He was 18 years old and he could die anytime. All his life, he was stuck in his house being taken cared by his mother. He never went outside but he was sick of staying home and wanted to go out for once. So he asked his mother and she gave him permission.

He walked down his block and found a lot of stores. He passed a CD store and looked through the front door for a second as he walked. He stopped and went back to look into the store. He saw a beautiful girl about his age and he knew it was love at first sight. He opened the door and walked in, not looking at anything else but her. He walked closer and closer until he was finally at the front desk where she sat.

She looked up and asked, "Can I help you?"

She smiled and he thought it was the most beautiful smile he has ever seen before and wanted to kiss her right there.

He said, "Uh... Yeah... Umm... I would like to buy a CD."

He picked one out and gave her money for it.

"Would you like me to wrap it for you?" she asked, smiling her cute smile again.“

He nodded and she went to the back. She came back with the wrapped CD and gave it to him. He took it and walked out of the store.

He went home and from then on, he went to that store every day and bought a CD, and she wrapped it for him. He took the CD home and put it in his closet. He was still too shy to ask her out and he really wanted to but he couldn't. His mother found out about this and told him to just ask her. So the next day, he took all his courage and went to the store as usual. He bought a CD like he did every day and once again she went to the back of the store and came back with it wrapped. He took it and when she wasn't looking, he left his phone number on the desk and ran out...

RRRRRING!!!

One day the phone rang, and the mother picked it up and said, "Hello?"

It was the girl!!! The mother started to cry and said, "You don’t know? He passed away yesterday..."

The line was quiet except for the cries of the boy's mother. Later in the day, the mother went into the boy's room because she wanted to remember him. She thought she would start by looking at his clothes. So she opened the closet.

She was face to face with piles and piles and piles of unopened CDs. She was surprised to find all these CDs and she picked one up and sat down on the bed and she started to open one. Inside, there was a CD and as she took it out of the wrapper, out fell a piece of paper. The mother picked it up and started to read it. It said: Hi... I think U R really cute. Do u wanna go out with me? Love, Jocelyn.

The mother was deeply moved and opened another CD...

Again there was a piece of paper. It said: Hi... I think U R really cute. Do u wanna go out with me? Love, Jocelyn.

Love is... when you've had a huge fight but then decide to put aside your egos, hold hands and say, "I Love You."

Have you ever found yourself in the place to console anyone?

Every now and then we see people get emotional around us.

Sometimes they experience tragedy.

Sometimes they just find out that life doesn't go as they planned.

Either case, they feel sad and it seems natural for you to console them.

But what would you say?

Would you say "I understand you."?

In my experience most people would.

But don't. Someone with high EQ would never say that.

Because it doesn't console anyone. It only hurts and makes people angry.

Everyone's life is unique. Everyone's experience is unique. Everyone's feeling is unique.

Don't assume that you know anyting about anyone.

'Cause you don't.

Just like nobody really understands you. And you don't want people to tell you that they do.

Someone once said: "Don't be afraid if you find a crack on your soul, because that'll be where the sunshine comes in."

Before I met you, I thought this was nothing but another bunch of useless beautiful words.

But after I met you, I realized that this is my life.

There're too many wonderful things in this world. But life is so short and fragile.

It was your appearance that made my life full of these warmth and lights.

It was you who wiped away all the fear that dwelled in my heart and made me feel that I could overcome all the challenges that life holds for me.

Now, I can't and do not dare to imagine a life without you.

I don't know what I'm supposed to do in a life like that.

Some people say that love makes one stupid. But to me, it made me brave.

I thank desitny for sending you to my side, my love.

I was running a few errands in my car the other day. The sun was out, the radio was playing, and I was singing along. The song was a joyful one and even my weak voice sounded good singing it. Then it happened, however. The sweet sound of the music ended and was replaced with the dreaded news break.

I drove on while the announcer droned on. Gas prices were going higher again because of the competitive speculation on Wall Street. The race for the Presidency was getting nastier and nastier, Rioting had broken out when fans of a sports team had gone wild, celebrating their team’s championship.

Finally, I could take no more and turned off the radio. Silence seemed preferable to listening to anything else about the crazy, competitive society we live in. I slowed down as I entered a local town and watched the people as I drove by.

A tall muscular man was helping an elderly lady out of a car and helping her position her walker so she could go into a local store.

A smiling woman was tossing birdseed into her backyard while a dozen Robins flew down to enjoy the feast being laid out before them.

A young man was walking along, carrying his two year old daughter safely in his arms. He tickled her gently when she pulled the hat off his head and they both laughed. I laughed too as I looked at all of this kindness. It felt like a glimpse of Heaven. The radio may have been off in my car, but in my heart I was still singing.

In truth, this world could use a little more kindness and a lot less competition. Kindness makes us all winners in this life. Kindness reminds us that we are all God’s Children. Kindness shows us that we don’t have to beat others in this world.

We just have to love them. May all of your moments here then be full of kindness, love, and joy. And may your only competition be with yourself: to be the best possible you that you can be.

The First Job

For college students, when graduation season comes, it is time for them to leave campus and find their own place in the world. But according to the report, most students lost jobs in the first year, though there are still a lot of chances. College students refuse the chances and wait for the better one.

The first job matters so much, it can make students find the sense of belonging, so don’t be picky for the first job. Most students believe that they deserve the job with high salary and potential development. While the fact is that the competition is so fierced and you have to compete with a lot of excellent students, only a few can get the chance. So it is better to find a job and gain the experience.

The location is also the important factor to consider. I think it is a good choice to work in the city that is near our home, so that we can go home often and spend more time with our parents. When we have job problem, we can come to our family for help.

So don’t be picky for the first job, when we have experience, we can make our own choice.

Why Girls Work So Hard

In the old days, it was men’s job to raise the family and the women should stay at home to deal with all kinds of chores. But in the modern society, women desire to go out of the house and find their places in the world. They work so hard to fulfill their value.

In the traditional view, girls will marry someday and then they will focus on the family, so there is no need for them to work so hard. But it is totally wrong for the girls. No matter which stage they are in, they need to work hard to keep their economic source. As the saying that no money, no talk, so the girls can say out their thoughts loudly in the family instead of feeling shameful to fight for their rights.

Whether girls marry or not, working can help them keep in pace with the time. The working surrounding not only can distract their pressure in the family, but also can broaden their vision. The colleagues can talk to them and relieve their negative emotion. Working can make a girl charming.

If people like to visit the tall buildings, the big cities are suitable for them. Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou can let people experience the vitality of the city and learn about the cutural background. It can also help them to know more about the country and master the chance of development.

If people choose to appreciate the grand nature, then the place like Tibet is their best choice. After living in the lively city for such a long time, it is time to stay away from the crowd and find their inner peace. Getting close to the nature can help people clear their minds and find the balance of their hearts. So that they will be full of energy when they come back to work.

Visiting the tourist sites can help people adjust their mood and broaden their vision.

My friend Matt and I arrived at the Activity Centre on Friday evening. The accommodation wasn't wonderful, but we had everything we needed (beds, blankets, food),and we were pleased to be out of the city and in the fresh air.

On Saturday morning we met the other ten members of our group. Cameron had come along with two friends,Kevin and Simon, while sisters Carole and Lynn had come with Amanda. There were some other members I didn't know. We had come from different places and none of us knew the area.

As many as 10 of the 17 kinds of penguins(企鹅)may be in danger of disappearing. The number of penguins have decreased(减少) by 30% since 1987.

Penguins are black and white birds that live in the southern part of the world. They are common in South America,New Zealand,Australia and South Africa. Mary live near cold waters. In England recently three foreign gentlemen came to a bus stop and waited . About five minutes later, the bus they wanted came along. They were just going to get on when suddenly there was a loud noise behind them. People rushed onto the bus and tried to push them out of the way . Someone shouted at them. The bus conductor came rushing down the stairs to see what all the trouble was about. The three foreigners seem all at sea and looked embarrassed (窘迫的 . No one had told them about the British custom (习惯)of lining up for a bus that the first person who arrives at the bus stop is the first person to get on the bus .

Learning the language of a country isn't enough. If you want to have a pleasant visit, find out as much as possible about the manners and customs of your host country. You will probably be surprised just how different they can be from your own. A visitor to India would do well to remember that people there consider it impolite to use the left hand for passing food at table. The left hand is supposed to be used for washing yourself. Also in India, you might see a man shaking his head at another to show that he doesn't agree. But in many parts of India a shake of the head means agreement. Nodding (点头) your head when you are given a drink in Bulgaria will most probably leave you thirsty .

In that country, you shake your head to mean 'yes'- a nod means 'no' . At a meal in countries on the Arabic Peninsula, you will find that your glass is repeated refilled as soon as you drink up . If you think that you have had enough , you should take the cup or glasses in your hand and give it a little shake from side to side or place your hand over the top.

In Europe it quite usual to cross your legs when you are sitting talking to someone even at an important meeting. Doing this in Thailand, however, could bring about trouble . Also, you should try to avoid (避免)touching the head of an adult (成人) --it's just not done in Thailand .
