Chinglish,即"中式英语"。学习者在写作中往往先用汉语打腹稿，或列出中文提纲，再把汉语一句句机械地转换成英语，带有明显的汉语痕迹，因而不能被以英语为母语者所接受。 中式英语指带有中文语音、语法、词汇特色的英语，是一种洋泾浜语言。中式英语在英语被称为“Chinglish”，是汉语及英语的英文混合而成的合体字。 中式英语“long time no see”（很久不见）已成为标准英文词组；1994年以来加入国际英语行列的词汇中，中式英语贡献了5%至20%，超过任何其他来源；当中国人发明了“good good study，day day up”（好好学习，天天向上）后，这个看起来有些雷人的词汇就带领着Chinglish（中式英语）一路前进。总之，有人给中国式英语下了定义：带有中文语音、语法、词汇特色的英语。
