Shanghai is developing quickly everyday. Quite a few foreigners come to visit Shanghai. As the hosts of Shanghai, we must be lovely Shanghaineses to tell the visitors that Shanghai is an international city. To be a lovely Shanghainese, first, we should do our best to make the city more beautiful to show our enthusiasm. Next, we should be kind and friendly to everyone. We must do so to make our guests fell our zeal. Finally, we should study and work hard to rise our ability. Shanghai is developing and we should make progress to follow the epoch.
Visitors to Nanjing are always impressed by its well-preserved historical sites, unique cultural atmosphere, lush greenery and wide roads. As a Nanjing resident, however, there is one thing I feel ashamed about. Quite a number of public phones in booths on the streets of Nanjing have been unfortunately damaged, and most of such damages were even done intentionally by some people who are “good at” vandalism. Some receivers, for example, were cut off or broken carelessly. In some extreme cases, phone booths were simply burned to ashes, apparently on purpose.
Setting up phone booths adds much modern color to this old city and represents the improvement of Nanjing’s telecommunication system. And most importantly, these public facilities make it possible for people to communicate with each other cheaply and conveniently, which is a great projectthat benefits citizens. Therefore, they should be kept in good conditions and always ready for use. This is very important, for it reflects the civilization level of a city in the eyes of visitors.
I think the department concerned should execute stricter management over these facilities and provide timely cleaning and proper maintenance, meanwhile, the media should launch a sweeping campaign toraise people’s awareness of need to protect and take care of public facilities. In some western countries, those who spoil public phones with intentions will be fined heavily and even assume criminal responsibility for such behavior.Nanjing could learn from this practice.
Nowadays, millions of migrant workers flock into cities in search of jobs and better living. However, with the sharp rise in the urban population, many problems arise in the development of cities.
Firstly, cities become more and more crowded, putting much pressure upon transportation, housing, sanitation, education, employment and so on,City services and facilities have been strained to a breaking point.Secondly, a growing number of private cars emit a huge amount of carbon dioxide ,leaving the aire mercilessly polluted. What is more, the city is also threatened by an increase in crime. There is not a single day passing without the report of someone being robbed ,kidnapped or even murdered.
last but not least,city-dwellers are not only separated from the nature but also isolated from each other, even not knowing the name of their next-door neighbor.
All these problems have harmed the attractiveness of the city.More and more people may seek to live in the suburbs if there isn't any improvement.
This is a report in an English newspaper about city life in the United States. In many cities in the USA hundreds of people ride bikes to work every day. Some of these people have even formed a group called “Bike for a Better City”. They ask people to ride bikes instead of driving cars so that the city may have cleaner air.
For several years ,this group has tried hard to get the city council to make life easier for bike riders. For example, they want the city council streets. The council has not yet decided what to do . It wants to keep everyone happy. But,so far the only cycle paths that have been built are in parks. To this day the safest place to ride a bike may still be in the parks.
Traffic congestion has long been a problem of great concern and complaint in big cities. It has caused a lot of inconvenience to peoples life and work. The first cause is the great increase in the number of private cars. Cars take up more space but they carry fewer people. Some private car drivers, ignoring traffic regulations, drive only for the sake of their own convenience, blocking the way of other public transportation vehicles. The second cause is the slow and inefficient construction and improvement of the roads and streets. With a large population and numbers of automobiles increasing, some roads still remain unimproved, which will surely lead to problems. Let all of us act now to solve it.
I just came back from XI'an .As is known to everyone ,Xi'an is an ancient city it is the capital of many dynasties of china and also one of the most famous ancient capital in the world ..but ,after the tour in Xi'an I found it's another attractive side .there have a lot of local refreshments which is very delicious .and the modern transportation is very convenient .the modern building is also coming up one after another .
As we admired the splendid relics we also impressed by the recent achievements it has achieved .by the way ,the weather in there is pretty comfortable .and accommodation is also very cheap .All in all ,the trip in Xi'an is really a nice memory for me .
Nowadays, motorcycles are popular around us. They have become an important means of transport in Chinese cities. Compared with the bike and the car, the motorcycle has its own advantages. First, it is quite flexible. When there is a traffic jam, it can go through the cars that are held up in the street. Besides, it doesn't consume much petrol. Most important of all, it can carry another person at the back.
But every coin has two sides. The negative aspects are also apparent. To begin with, it's very complicated to get qualified fur riding a motorcycle. You'll have to go through a series of procedures to get a riding license. Furthermore, the maintenance is expensive. Worst of all, it costs a big sum of money to pay fur the license plate, especially in big cities.
In conclusion, it has both favorable and unfavorable aspects. However, if the authorities concerned simplify the procedures and reduce the cost of the license plate, the motorcycle will be accepted by more people.
Shen Zhen is my favorite city. It is a young and promising city. I have been living in this city for over ten years. I love the seafood in this city as well as its beautiful scenes. In summer, I can go to the sea to see the sun rise, or enjoy the fresh cool sea water. On weekend, I can go to the park to have a walk. Shen Zhen is my hometown. When I grow up, I want to make contribution to this city and make it becomes a better city.
Nowadays, it’s hard to imagine how often you are a victim of traffic jam. As is shown in the picture, the road is crowded with hundreds of cars and buses, turning it into a huge parking lot.
Why is the traffic so heavy these days? The reasons are complex. On the one hand, with the fast development of our economy and living standard the number of vehicles is rising sharply. Worse still, the road condition needs improving badly. Having been in use for many years, our traffic system is now out-of-date.
When it comes to the solution to this problem, I have 3 suggestions. Above all, the government must take immediate measures to improve the road condition. New tunnels and overpasses must be built and old roads must be broadened. Besides, local government must improve the public transportation system. Finally, citizens must be encouraged to reduce driving and make more use of public transportation. Thus, not only can we relieve the pressure of transportation, but also we can contribute to environmental protection.
In short, both the government and citizens must take on their own responsibilities. Only in this way can our transportation become more efficient.

My favorite city in the world is Auckland, New Zealand. It is one of the world's best cities to live in, and is nicknamed the "City of Sails". There are many ports and harbors there, along with mountains, beaches, and oceans, along with the famous Rangitoto volcano. If you like history, you can visit the Auckland Museum, the Auckland War Memorial Museum, the New Zealand National Maritime Museum etc. If you like shopping, the Queen Street, Parnell Road, and Ponsonby Road are good choices. If you like natural scenery, you can go to One Tree Hill, which is named for its lone tree on top of the hill. If you want to learn about Auckland's universities, you can visit the University of Auckland. Auckland is an English-speaking country, so if you want to visit there, you'd better learn some English, or take a transator with you.

New Zealand is a country in the south-western Pacific Ocean comprising two large islands (the North Island and the South Island) and numerous smaller islands, most notably Stewart Island/Rakiura and the Chatham Islands. In Māori, New Zealand has come to be known as Aotearoa, which is usually translated into English as The Land of the Long White Cloud. The Realm of New Zealand also includes the Cook Islands and Niue, which are self-governing, but in free association; Tokelau; and the Ross Dependency (New Zealand's territorial claim in Antarctica). New Zealand is notable for its geographic isolation, being separated from Australia to the northwest by the Tasman Sea, approximately 2000 kilometres (1250 miles) across. Its closest neighbours to the north are New Caledonia, Fiji, and Tonga. The population is mostly of European descent, with the indigenous Māori being the largest minority. Non-Māori Polynesian and Asian people are also significant minorities, especially in the cities. Elizabeth II, as the Queen of New Zealand, is the Head of State and is represented, in her absence, by a non-partisan Governor-General; the Queen 'reigns but does not rule', so she has no real political influence. Political power is held by the democratically-elected Parliament of New Zealand under the leadership of the Prime Minister who is the Head of Government.
