开音节的拼音：

E发字母本身音[i:] be, these, me, he, she, we, 等。
I发字母本身音[ai] I bike, China, like,Chinese, ice, line, mine, life, idea, nine, 等。
O发字母本身音[u] ago, radio, go, photo, rode, old, told, hold, cold, 等。
U发字母本身音[ju:] cute, bute, mute, fume, men, pupil, argue, use, 等。
闭音节的拼音：

字母组合的读音也是有规律可循的。如;

规则如下：
规则一：当字母c后面接a、o、u的时候，c的发音与字母k的发音相同，如“cat(猫)、cup(杯子)”等等。当字母c后面接的是e、I、y的时候，通常c的发音和字母s的发音相同，如“city(城市)、ice(冰淇淋)”等等。当c之前的字母是e或者i时。
c的发音常常发做\sh\，如ocean(海洋)、social(社会的)等等。
规则二：当g字母之后接a、o、u的时候，所发的音为\ge\，如最常见的girl(女孩子)、get(得到)等等。当g之后接e、i或者y的时候，g的发音常常和字母j的发音相同，常见的有age(年龄)、change(改变)等等。
规则三：字母x在单词中间或者末尾的时候，发音应为\ks\，例如box(箱子)、six(数字六)、next(继续)等等。当字母x在单词中间的时候，有时候发音会变成\gz\，例如exam(考试)等。
规则四：字母y在单词起始位置时，发音通常为辅音，如yes(是的)、you(你的)等等，当字母y在单词的中间或结尾时，发音通常为元音。
在英语体系中，字母是单词的基本单位，而字母又可以分为元音字母和辅音字母，其中元音字母只有五个(a、e、i、o、u)剩余的全部都是辅音字母。
美国传统教育中最常见的自然拼读法，绝大多数美国儿童从小接受的就是自然拼读法。自然拼读法的核心是基本规则表，掌握了规则表就等于掌握了拼读法。

自然拼读法是国际主流的英语教学法，我国香港和台湾地区2000年就已引进此教学法，并已进入大规模推广和普及阶段。它之所以风靡全球，是因为这种教学法简单高效，符合人类学习语言的规律，尤其适合于非英语为母语国家的初学者。即使从来都没有学过英语的人通过学习和训练，在不依靠国际音标的情况下，就能达到"见词能读，听音能写"的惊人效果，学习效率飞速提升。
