区的英语

我今天（2020/3/7）刚看到的外网报道里面有一句话是这样的：

众所周知，皇后区是纽约市下属，所以borough

同理的还有阿灵顿县和华盛顿州的关系：county

但是，A district is a particular area of a town or country.

它既可以是国家区域也可以是一个小镇区域，还可以说是小型划分的区域（如：商业区等）

所以，如果泛指的话你可以用district表示“一个被划分出来的地方”

但如果是某个现实中已经有了译名的地方，应该参照英文译名来翻译。

英语中的“区”有很多种译法,象楼上多位举出的district,section都是区.但楼主问的是象“白云区”一样的区,就应该译成Borough.请见下面的解释： borough A self-governing incorporated town in some U.S.states,such as New Jersey. One of the five administrative units of New York City. A civil division of the state of Alaska that is the equivalent of a county in most other U.S.states. Chiefly British. A town having a municipal corporation and certain rights,such as self-government. A town that sends a representative to Parliament. A medieval group of fortified houses that formed a town having special privileges and rights. 而District一般是指为选举区、学区或法院管辖范围等划出的区： District：One of the territorial areas into which an entire state or country,county,municipality,or other political subdivision is divided,for judicial,political,electoral,or administrative purposes.

Borough啦，district只是指抽象的区域A self-governing incorporated town in some U.S. states, such as New Jersey.自治市镇，自治区：美国一些州，如新泽西州享有自治权的市镇One of the five administrative units of New York City.纽约行政区：纽约市五个行政区的一个A civil division of the state of Alaska that is the equivalent of a county in most other U.S. states.阿拉斯加行政区：在阿拉斯加州等同于美国其他州中县的行政单位Chiefly British 【多用于英国】 A town having a municipal corporation and certain rights, such as self-government.自治城镇：拥有市自治体或一定权利，如自治权的城镇A town that sends a representative to Parliament.可向议会选送代表的城镇A medieval group of fortified houses that formed a town having special privileges and rights.设防的镇：中世纪时组成的具有特殊优惠和权利的集团和设堡房屋
