加定冠词the一定是两个的另一个（不管是两个，还是两部分）：特指I have two brothers. One is a doctor, and the other is a player. (the other，两个中的另一个，用于单数）I have five apples. Two are red and the others are green. (the others，两部分中的另一部分，用于复数）other , others 是不定数的“一些”Our students are playing on the playground. Some are playing basketball. Others are playing badminton. （这句话指除了打篮球、打羽毛球的同学们，还有同学玩其它的，只是这里没提。与the others 的区别是：the others 只有两部分）同理other，只不过是单数。

other与the other：当事人是单数时使用。前者表示除当事人之外的其他任何人（共有三个或三个以上的人），后者表示除当事人之外的另一个人（一共只有两人）others与the others：当事人是复数时使用。前者表示除当事人之外的其他一些人，后者表示除当事人之外剩下的那部分人。

in person.亲自做某事，一般后置。by oneself=on one's own 自己做某事
