Hi, Mike,As a student of your age, I understand your situation. I think it is wise of you to go alone. But you need to deal with your problem carefully not to hurt the feelings of your parents. Here are some of my suggestions.They may have many reasons to go with you. So have a talk with them and listen patiently. This is, I suppose, your first time to be far away from home for so long, and they surely have some worries and wish to see everything go well. Express your thanks for all their love and care. Persuade them you can manage everything well this time just as you did many times in the past. Remember to invite them to Beijing when you have already settled down. There are many ways of transportations currently. Such as taxi,bus,bicycle. However,every kind of transportation has its own pros and cons. For instance, travelling by bicycle is a good type of exercise, it helps us to maintain a healthy body, however it is also dangerous to ride a bicycle on the busy roads, also it will take us a long time to get to a place far away. Well taxi is a better option as it is convenient and relatively affordable. However it is difficult to get a taxi during the rush hour. Bus is very convinient, cheap and punctual
