正确理解汉语原文和使用地道英文表达是汉译英的基础。原文说“三个半小时”，指的是三个小时再加上半个小时，英文分别是three hours和half an hour。但是英文不能把把这两部分生硬地连接起来，而是需要再进行调整。具体参考2的译文。正确译文：three hours and a half；three and a half hours。
