It seems that many of the students at school are so careless that they don't pay any attention to their spellings.Everybody understands that it is one of the defects of our education system. The main reasons for that,perhaps,are two as follows:First of all,many students are taken good care by their parents at home.They are short of the living experience,including the nature of carefulness.Therefore,they gradually form the habit of the carefulness in their study.Secondly,frankly speaking,some of the teachers in the school are not so strict with their students in their lessons.Such kind of teachers are no responsible enough in their teaching.If we want to change the situation.we must take some practical measures in every class.And we can hold some activities to stimulate the students' confidence and responsiblity in their study.

Correct spelling is a basic skill in English study. However, nowadays many students do not pay much attention to it。They have their own reasons for misspelling. First of all, they like an easy way of studying, which causes some omissions and changes in spelling. Second, the teachers might not be very strict in students’ spelling. In China, teachers seem to be more concerned with grammar and vocabulary but not spelling。To change this situation, in my opinion, the teachers and the students should work together. On one hand, the teachers should give more attention to students’ spelling, asking the students to be conscious of the importance of correct spelling from the very beginning of their English study. On the other hand, the students themselves are supposed to be aware that correct spelling is a must in English study。To sum up, correct spelling is so important that both students and the teachers should spare no efforts to achieve correct spelling.

The basic and important part of studying English is spelling. Unfortunately, many students don't pay attention to it. Thus, students' skills of spelling are increasingly worse. Sometimes even an easy word could be spelled wrong, but they don't seem to realize their mistakes.For the sake of changing this condition, as far as I'm concerned, teachers should emphasis on the importance of spelling, and take some effective measures to improve students' skills of spelling. More importantly, students must think highly of spelling if they want to study English well.
